Expressions of interest please!
We are thinking about organising a weekend in Maldon from Friday 19th - Sunday 21st February which is the same weekend as the annual Maldon antique and collectables fair. The market is on both Saturday and Sunday and a great place to pick up a vintage bargain. Maldon has a small caravan park with 10 powered and 40 unpowered sites and we can book the whole park out. The caravan park are on board and have pencilled us in. There's lots to do in this tiny town and Daylesford, Castlemaine and Kyneton are all close by.
The weekend will also incorporate a treasure hunt car rally - you will have no idea where the journey is going to take you but it will be a fun adventure with clues and activities to be completed along the way. This will be organised by Marcus so it's sure to be fun, maybe a little odd, but most certainly interesting! Prizes to be won too. Probably BYO dinner on Friday night and organise something together for Saturday dinner.
Let us know if you are interested! Alison and Marcus

Frances & Chris wish to register their interest in attending your proposed vintage caravan weekend in Maldon. Lots to do and not far to other interesting historic towns, even a steam train to take to Castlemaine. We shall be there if a powered site is available..Thanks Marcus & Alison, Frances.

Put the King Fisher's on the list, that sounds great. We can camp powered or unplugged, no problem for us.

Ralph and Laraine will be there in the 1968 Coronet. Prefer power, but can go unpowered, depending on availability. Maybe you had better book the whole park because of the interest so far. Early days yet!

Bert spent the day exploring the hidden and unusual delights of Maldon and surrounds in contemplation of 19/20 Feb 2016 vintage van get together and car rally weekend in Maldon - there will be a ' discovering hidden gold ' theme - have opted for Baringhup CV park - "Loddon House CV park " on Facebook ( Bert is too old to do Facebook!) and you will need to book through Florence ( aka Alison ) rather than the van park, as we have booked 50 sites -powered and non powered available and all close together - more details to follow as we get it organised - pet friendly - great location - central to everything in Central Vic , on the w/e of Maldon collectables fair for you Vintage bargain hunters. Stay tuned for more details

To expand on Bert's post here's some more info regarding booking in. Loddon House Holiday Park Baringhup - we have booked sites 1-14 non powered and the following powered sites 14-26, 31-41, 85-105 (not including 27, 30 90 or 96) which are all powered which you can see here. All up that's 52 sites and there's plenty more if we need them. www.facebook.com/104094019675988/photos/a.526621124089940.1073741826.104094019675988/526621167423269/?type=1&theaterI'll be taking the bookings and payment directly and if you would like to be next to someone in particular just let me know. We are also booking a non powered site in the middle to be our "get together" area for drinks and BBQ so if you have a portable BBQ please bring it along. The unpowered sites are right on the Loddon river and that end of the park is really beautiful with grass and nice shady trees. There are even platypus in the river! Bring your fishing rods too. Unpowered sites $22, powered $25, extra adult $10 and child $5. Pets welcome. The caravan park is about a ten minute drive from Maldon. Please phone Alison on 0419 429 586 to book.

Sounds great, we would love to book in for a powered site for friday and saturday, (unfortunately, the old viscount is all 240v). The nationals are now off the agenda due to work committments, so we can now attend some more local events. Should I book direct? or are you organising this? Thanks, Robert.

Bert has been contemplating the route for the car rally, lots of interesting things to see in Central Vic. For those who havent been here and even for those who have, Bert hopes to introduce you to new experiences. Some famous people came from central victoria apparently ... Bourke of 'Bourke and Wills', Ron Barassi and ..... Francis Gerard McEnroe - Frank to his friends - born 1908 in Castlemaine - inventor of the Chicko Roll! Remeber these facts as they may be worth bonus points on Bert's Car Rally ! Looking forward to seeing you all there - remember to contact Florence ( Bert's Lover ) via proboard vintagecaravans to book in ... See you in February!
