This post is more about me being "just curious" rather than expecting any firm responses. Right at the bottom of our home page is says the Forum Age is currently 9 years, 6 months, and 19 days. Using this website, it means the forum started on July 26, 2004. With the Nationals happening this year, has there been any time to think about how the tenth anniversary will be celebrated in July? I realise a lot of people don't have any time at the moment to even scratch themselves, but if you're looking for volunteers to make any ideas come to fruition, count me in. And no, I don't have any ideas either. (But I'm thinking on it... ) cheers, Al.

G'day Al,
And thank you for raising this subject, it surely is an anniversary worthy of celebration aye?
The tenth anniversary of the vintagecaravans.com web site ( which led to the formation of the forum) was celebrated two years ago with a tour of the South Western corner of WA As it transpired it was difficult for many people to be able to travel the distance and spare the time to take part in that celebration but it did happen and it was a great success for those able to take part in it.
However the forum has had such a profound influence on the development of the vintage caravan hobby in Australia that it's tenth anniversary should be recognised and acknowledgment made that it would not be happening if it were not for the two people who started it.... Mark Taylor and Jeni ( ditzygypsy ).
As you say, the official start of the forum was the 26th July 2004
Is it too late to organise an event close to that date ?... are there too many events already proposed between now and then ?.....would people organising any of those events feel inclined to re-designate it as a 'Forum 10th Anniversary' celebration ?... should a 'Forum 10th Anniversary' celebration be combined with the fifth 'Vintage Caravans Nationals' at Broken Hill ? ....... or should an event be held later in the year ?
Just a few points to think and talk about.... thanks again for bring the subject to our attention Al

G'Day
Surely you guys can "raise a glass" to the tenth anniversary while at Broken Hill. Only fitting to do so as there ( hopefully) will be a few of the W.A crew there ..... Doesn't have to be a "Bells and whistle fanfare... street parade with speeches etc" ....
Why not commission the local bakery/cakeshop to make a celebration cake and invite everyone at the nats to attend a cake cutting happy hour one arvo in the van park. ??
Regards Reddo

Great idea Reddo, and so simple. Doesn't mean that people can't organise something for the actual date or weekend close to the date, but with so many of us gathered in the one place it will be easy for us to 'raise a glass' and acknowledge the special event. Thanks for allerting us to the anniversary Al.
Cheers, Lilian
