G'day Derk, I'm definately not a quack but I reckon the sciatic is gone because your favouring the heel ....
If so, it will probably need addressing through physiotherapy - the muscle wastage from not using your leg is probably pretty significant by now.
My young fella has recently dislocated his knee, and his first physio the other day highlighted just how quick the muscles fade a way!

Back again, No not my back! me again, so far so good, the back has settled down a lot, to the point I'm not restricted to what I do but I'm still carefull, the good news though is that I ditched the crutches for good, this will be my third week without them, no trouble walking around but if I stay on it for to long it lets me know so I'm still giving it plenty of rest whenever I can

Making this my last post on the subject, four weeks without crutches, full 5 day week after tomorrow, no major hassles and can see some light at the end of the tunnel all is good
