Hi there wheel buffs! I recently acquired my first vintage van. Haven't been able to identify it yet but am about to pot pics in the general board. It has 16" wheels, which came with 6" tyres so the wheel width is about 5", with a positive offset, 6-stud 139.7mm (5.5") PCD. Does anyone have any idea what they are and where I could find some more? Unfortunately, the van didn't come with a spare and nothing like these is readily available from manufacturers these days. The original tyres were light truck with a really narrow tread and quite a wide diameter. The guys at Bridgestone were able to put new 195mm tyres on, which are quite a bit wider (and about an inch smaller OD) but seem to be working well enough. Didn't come with hub caps either, unfortunately. Any leads would be greatly appreciated! Attachment Deleted

Hi,
Seems unlikely to find a 6 stud wheel on an old van, that is not the early chev 37 to 48 pattern. A lot of the japanese lite truck wheels are 6 stud, & I know that some of the Toyota wheels are the same pattern. I think it would be likely that most of them are the same.
Only way to find out if something else will fit, is to try to borrow one from someone & physically check to see the bolt pattern & offset ( distance the wheel sits inwards from the mounting centre plate) will fit your application.

Hi folks, we have measured the stud patterns up on our furness but can't figure out what sort of rims go on her. We are wanting to get a spare.
TIA

G'day Roybeth, I don't know if you are aware of the thread the forum has about WHEELS, and I don't know if it contains any information useful to you (you can see it if you click here) Would you mind if this question of yours was moved to that thread just to give the thread a shot in the arm, because there has been some good info gathered there. As usual, photos of your wheels will help identify it 😉 Cobber.

Need more practice searching :-) Thanks

G'day Roybeth, Yes the forums 'search engine' is a bit like 'Photobucket', very useful when you learn how to work it But neither of them like to make it toooo easy. BRENTEN ! Do you know if any of the old Holden wheels would fit ? Furness ? (I think) liked to skite about how they could carry a Holden on their roof, I was just thinking maybe Holden might skite about how they carried Furness on their wheels Cobber.

Yeah thanks Brenten I wasn't certain sure if it was a Furness so I went looking through both Furness & Globe in DHL and haven't been able to find that advertesment so I guessed Furness Tell me Brenten, where do they hide the spare on the early Furness ? Just about every photo in DHL shows the Furness towed by a FX/FJ and no spare evident on the van.... I was 'thinking' ? maybe the Holdens spare was the vans spare as well All very usefull info eh Roybeth Cobber P.S. Just to continue this discussion (which has nothing to do with what Roybeth wants to know) Brenten of course is right, it is a Globe with the Holden on its roof however, the advertesment was for a badge engineared Wayfarer. You can read all about that in the Wayfarer thread in DHL. Cobber.

JBJ^ Gertie has six stud hubs, and just for giggles I sat a wheel off our 2014 Holden Colorado on it and the stud holes lined up perfectly. I didn't put the nuts on, and it didn't bear any weight, but I think it backs up the 6 stud PCD theory. The only thing stopping the Colorado wheels going on was the offset, as the tyre was rubbing on the chassis. Oh, and they're 4 inches taller than the tyres that are already on her.

Hi, I wonder if anybody can help. My parents pen a vintage jelly bean van (suspect 50s or 60s vintage). Marine ply construction, etc. They've restored and done a decent job. Unfortunately axle had to be replaced hence modern wheels had to be squired. Vintage wheels and brand new tyres are now a surplus but I need to know what they came out of. Can anyone help? Tyre size is 175/80 R15, 5 stud and distance between studs icemtres is 100mm. Thsnks

Hi Steve Bicket, Yes, the Vintage Caravans Forum is still going and active. The fact that there's no recent posts on this thread just means nobody's been active on this particular topic, and also possibly that there's no-one that has the info requested. If people don't have info to share here they tend to not comment. The same might be the case for your question about Carapark wheel patterns. If you're on Facebook, you could ask the question of the Carapark FB page. There's quite a lot of Carapark people involved there. Hope that helps. Don Ricardo
