Like this one?... Forum member winterwood (Max) has a Globe Trotter with the chassis number 2617 that was bought new in 1964. You can read about his van in this threadMax needed to have the Gold Coaster logo redone on his van, and I sent him a copy of my picture above. Max doesn't come on the forum much these days, but if you send him a Personal Message, he may get to read it and tell you how he went about getting the logo "repainted". I remember that the picture I gave him was too small for the painter to work with, so he enlarged it on a photocopier, or did something like that. Anyway, Max has been-there-done-that, so he's the 'expert'. cheers, Al.

The question of which sealant to use is pretty easy. There are probably over 6000 different brands, colours, end-uses, etc. on the market. Avoid anything with silicone in it. Choose one of the remaining 2000. Or... read these threads: 1962 Roadmaster 15 DeluxeThe best sealant?Tape on Bondwood Van Sides/joinsBottom line with sealants is that it probably doesn't matter which one you use, as long as it ISN'T a silicone type sealer. cheers, Al.

Thank you so much, didn't realise there was so much information on this site, it is truely amazing.
Al, seems like the thread for Winterwood's Globe Trotter has disappeared which is a shame. Thank you so much for the info. Just have to sort out which hub caps now and we should be ok, Thanks again.
Regards, Cheryle

Cheryle,
Max's van is there, I looked it up for a friend only yesterday.
Try a search for Globe in for sales. Worked for me.
Cheers, Leigh.

Thanks, haven't seen that post before even after spending many hours on this site. So much appreciated, will try and upload some photos again (didn't have much luck last time and ended up giving up). Just have to work out now what sort of wheels it has on it.
Regards, Cheryle

Hi Cherton, I was asked by winterwood to reproduce the "Gold Coaster" logo and have it saved on computer..... Please contact me via PM for further details......I can reproduce it in vinyl....longer-lasting than paint, but not as authentic. Bit hard for me to signwrite it with a brush......could be arranged if would like to pay for a flight WA-SA-WA ;D ;D ;D ;D As for the rims, when I first got my Globetrotter it had 13" Ford Zepher rims on it.....bit of a problem trying to get a spare. Being a personal preference (and to make life easier), I changed the axle and stub ends to 13" Holden. My thoughts on caravan rims are that it is possible that when you ordered your new caravan back in the '50s, '60s, you ordered it with rims to suit your tow vehicle. This is just my little theory, so don't take it as gospel. I doubt that there were any "Globetrotter" hubcaps.....just hubcaps to suit the type of rim you had. Cheers Daggsey

Have we (v.vanners) determined a way of dating our Globeys yet? My 6? gold coaster 14 ' had 13" holdens on. Had 2 spare as well so I changed to 14" hk/t rims which I bought as new repros. I have the 2 eh and 2 hr rims available to a vvanner. I may sell my annexe too as we don't stay long anywhere. Also have an all electric fridge and 4 globey windows as well as other parts from one I wrecked last year due to LOTS of rot. As I now have a V.C. Valiant Safari Wagon I will fit matching wheels to the globey. I will soon be going on safari in my Safari wearing my safari suit with Globey on Safari. But first I would like to repaint my 3 logos. I had intended getting vinyl stencils made as I did for the Furness stripes years ago, and painting them myself. What do you reckon Daggsey? Will it work? I doubt we can afford to fly you over AND pay for your services too. But it is a thought that we all get together and 'chip in'. Regards Beetles
