G'day All, if you live close to Sydney and were a Rockabilly Rebel in the 1950s (step up to the front, cobber!! ...Not me...I was just a 'Rock-a-bye baby' back then.. ), then you might be interested in a photo exhibition called, "Rockabilly: Living in the '50s", which opened the other day at the Museum of Sydney and goes til August 17. Details can be found here... www.hht.net.au/whats_on/highlights/exhibitions/rockabillyThere is also an Exhibition talk on Sat 5 July... www.hht.net.au/whats_on/highlights/exhibitions/rockabillyAnd then everything culminates in the 14th annual Fifties Fair on 24th August... www.hht.net.au/whats_on/event/festivals/fifties_fair(check out the photos in the Atlantic vans History thread to see what mrfj55 got up to at a previous event. Cool stuff!!) And here's a photo of how cobber would have dressed when he was a rebel... [caption: "Marc Rondeau and his partner Sue Cadzow picnic in '50s style." Sydney Morning Herald "Good Weekend" magazine, Sat June 7, 2008.] cheers, Al. (ps. I meant to emphasise that cobber would have dressed like the bloke! ;D ;D ...Sorry cobber )
