G'day All, if you like to dabble in timberwork like I do (...I heard recently that people even dabble in old timber caravans! They should get a LIFE!! ), then you may well have been frustrated at times trying to hold two bits of timber together with one hand, while you fumble with a clamp in the other. I was in Bunnings yesterday buying more clamps for a special project, when I came across these types... What I liked about them was that they are one-handed operation, with a positive locking ratchet system coupled with a quick-release trigger. They have a maximum opening of 50mm which should be more than enough for general timber joinery (eg, clamping ply to frame). I can't vouch for the industrial quality of them yet, however they seem like they can take a bit of pressure. The reason I am posting this is because at my local Bunnings store the clamps are now a Clearance item and once sold won't be restocked. Price is now $6.87 for a pack of two, down from $9.99. Perhaps they are on Clearance at your local store as well, and could be handy for any restoration work you've got lined up. Head to the Tool Dept where all the clamps are stocked. Shout yourself a few sets (...or if you are like me and believe that you can never have too many clamps in the shed, then shout yourself a few more than a few sets ;D ;D) cheers, Bargain Hunter Al.

Guys,
if it makes it easier for people, gimme a yell if you're interested in getting some of these clamps.
They are a deleted line and as such, not every store will have them. I can log into the inventory system and let you know which stores in your state "should" have some in stock based on their last inventory record. I had a look at Victoria to get some details and some stores already have zero stock, where others that are quieter have more. Might save you all a drive for nothing..
Cheers Bunnings boy, Chris

Hi Reddo,
I got some info from minicamper, then proceeded to waste best part of half hour trying to get someone at the 2 Bunnings near me to find any clamps. I know it was Friday arvo, but they are not the easiest people to get to answer the phone in the correct department, let alone find anything.
I'm giving up, unless I happen to be going near the store for something, as often happens. I like the stores, but the staff up tend to hide a lot at times.
