G'day All, In the Munmorah thread, one of the photos Daggsey posted was this one... Can someone tell me who owns it and are they a member here? I'd like to make contact to see if they know the make/brand of their van, as it is the closest I've seen to my second little van which I've been trying to identify since it was bought 18 months ago... I've checked out Castle vans and reddo's Fairways van but my van doesn't have a porthole in the door like Castles do, and it doesn't have the sloping back like reddos does. Any help appreciated. thanks, Al.

hi al
that's the little old van maurie (mrfj55) sold on ebay last year for around $4000.
the new owner is john and his wife pat.
he's done a nice job on the van.
john has the auto 1 outlet at musselbrook and came up to munmorah to 'check us v.v.ers out'.
he's a chev/holden fan but we didn't hold that against him.
i reckon he might become a member of our little group before too long.

Hiya Al John has been a member of the forum for around 18 months. He noticed we where headin to Munmorah this weekend and he and his wife and thier jack russell ( can we make this breed of dog our mascot) came along for a looksee. I thought thier van was an alloy van until i walked over , gave it a tap and discovered it was made of gods gift to man... wood. ;D . I am guessing either an Atlantic or a Gypsy. I think John stated that he fitted the porthole himself. As Jude has stated John works at Auto 1/ Tyrepower at Muswellbrook. He might repond to this thread once he spots his van on here. Otherwise you may be able to phone him. Other option is to contact Maurie.. MrFJ55 and have a yarn about the van. Nice couple that fitted in with the rest of us van nutters on thier first outing. Reminds me.. i promised him 3 wooden tent poles for the annexe he is yet to buy and fit Reddo

During talks around the site at Munmorah, I think from memory that John almost decided it was a Purdon.
By the way John, How did you manage to get so far in front of me on your way home - almost at Mussellbrook before I caught up with you!!! Which way did you travel???
