Hi folks, Since my first post asking for some help on finding out some info on Clipper van. I have since taken some Pictures............ so here goes.  I think it may be a Sunliner but what year ?? Or Not ??  As you can see by the unsure look on my mates face who was first in for a cup of tea !!!!! it needs some work to bring it up to spec LOL |

Hi jagster, Tickos is on the mark. If you read through the Kennedy caravan thread in the History section, there is mention of a "Clipper" model in this range. Click on this link and look for the information from Thierry and the old photos he provided... vintagecaravans.proboards30.com/index.cgi?board=chat&action=display&thread=2028Yours is probably now the second one we've been notified of, so feel free to become the Kennedy Clipper expert on the forum   cheers, Al. |

The Kennedy thread will show you a photo I received last year of a van in the Atherton Tablelands.
Haven't been able to get up there to see the van yet.
But hopefully some time this year..... all things being equal..

Thanks for your help in sorting out the brand name on my new project. Tickos good spotting thanks.
Al Thanks for the thread back to "Thierry" pictures I would think the correct age of this van would be around 1960-64 I will try to find a ID plate once I get started on the restoration.
If Will & Lyn read this I would love to see some pictures of their Kennedy or from any one els who has done work on or has a Kennedy.
I hope to get a start on it in August once work slows down a bit so if any Members in Adelaide can steer me in the right direction for spare parts for older vans Retro light fitting Etc that will sure help me.

Gidday Jagster Yes your Van is a Kennedy Original around 1958 1959 your van has a raked front window and the straight window model started in 1960 You can buy the window material from Bunnings by special order it is not the standard plastic it is polycarb around triple the strength and life of the perspex which is rubbish and the window surround is stainless in the flooring section here is a photo of My van    the spats are made from hi density foam and sprayed with hardcoat   You have a unique rare australian Van there Jagster you are no 8 that we know off take the time to restore it and you will have an amazing van that you can tow anywhere in Australia JFK has been across Australia four times in the last three years and has not once behaved badly the aerodynamics are extraordinary and our fuel consumption towing it fantastic they have been Marketed under 4 names Kennedy Franklin Skyline and Clipper look after it and you will never be dissapointed at the interest you will recieve from the general public Will and Lyn Bayley

Question for the Kennedy owners..
Is the fibreglass shell complete
In other words does the fibreglass extend under the floor like in earlier Olympics or does it stop at the floor like Sunliners?
Also what is the head height?
The more I see these vans the more I want one
Hence the reason for the questions

Hi Willlyn, you wrote " Marketed under 4 names, Kennedy, Franklin, Skyline and Clipper " Ours is a finned one but only has a Wayfarer badge, which has a special pattern moulded in the " fabuglass" for it. Does that make 5? Or does the Wayfarer belong to Franklin? Would love to know what others think.

The finned ones as far as Tucky and myself can ascertain were even rarer than the standard models such as ours
we have only heard of three
if there are more we would like to know about it
there is one in altona that is badged as a wayfarer perhaps that was the model we are not sure about that
Perhaps Franklin 1 may have some info or even Humpty
I have never seen one apart from the photos of them
we have heard that the standard model was under twenty made we are thinking that there was special orders for the fin and boot model

Yes they are a great looking van your's looks great as you can see I have a bit of work to be done to get it up to spec but thats half the fun. The Van is complete and appears to have original spats of fibreglass most of my work will be cleaning and repainting as it has been out in the open for the last 25 years. the pictures of your ute and van look great, if you have any more internal pics I would love to see them to help inspire me.
