Holy cow Batman!!! As you say, where would you find another one? I love it for it totally out there looks. Absolutely worth saving, but a LOT of work which needs to be done sympathetically & intelligently to period. Congrats for having the persistence to pursue it. It kinda looks like the back was modelled from an ambulance or similar of the late 50s....do you think?

That's a very interesting van, Stephen. The front-on photo seems to show a moulded space designed for a gas bottle... I don't think I've ever seen another van, from the vintage era, that had a built-in feature for the gas bottle. The other thing that caught my eye was the shape of the tail light mouldings. They seem to be similar to something along the lines of the HR Holden style... Definitely haven't seen something like this van before. cheers, Al.

G’day Stephen&Julie,
So this is part one, do you mean to say there will be a part two ?
What a hand full you’ve got there !! Are there any identifying marks on it to indicate it was made in Australia, (or anywhere else on earth)
Could you give us a couple of close up photos of the tow coupling ?
Does it have an icebox or any other appliances that might have a manufacturer’s name on them ?.
Its hard to understand how somebody could go to so much trouble to build such a wonder and then for it to be left to deteriorate to its present state.
Looking forward to part two, part three, etc. 😉
Cobber.

Wow that is very cool. Part car, part caravan, and I reckon that moulded space at the front is where the propeller was fitted! Looking forward to seeing what happens next.
