Hi everyone, I have an old viscount 1985 model wind up. I am semi restoring it by replacing the canvas and now replacing the aluminum cladding. I tried to pay some one to do it but it seems every caravan repairer in Sydney is busy beyond May or does not want the job and qouting amounts like 7 grand to do the job (yes 7grand to repalce the cladding my hole house cost 3K). So I thought ill give it a shot myself. I have taken the largest side of and found it was bent under the bottom railing and then screwed on the under side and pop riveted at the top. Easy enough to get it off but now it is time to remove the nose and rear fibre glass cones I am starting to wonder how the seams are re joined as I will be using cladding rather than the fibre glass cones? Also alot of the vans I have seen with cladding at the front and rear have the cladding have a bend in it how hard is it to form this bend or is the cladding flimsy enough to just bend it in shape and rivet it down? Any help is appreciated on how to reinstall the cladding the most secure way so it does not drop off when traveling down the road. This is the same van pictured here. www.canvasdesigns.com.au/IdentifyYourCamper/pages/A71-Viscount%20Millard.2.htm

Thanks for that, I spoke to Camec at Ingleburn and they said they don't stock it anymore. Then tried the kogarah branch and they referred me to a repairer who I got the same story out of "Two Months Wait".
So I found the cladding at Barnes caravans and think ill just give it a shot myself its just rivet and screw so can't be that difficult.
I just need to get some metal for the front and rear frames so I can mould the round edges over it.
If anyone else has any comments on doing this I would be happy to hear your experiences?
