After the Maryborough Vic gathering was cancelled, a few of us decided to still go away. We opted for Avoca which was a beautiful caravan park. In Dunolly

My dear friend & secret weapon in the caravan restoration game, Noel Dow, passed away yesterday. I could not have done any of the 8 or so rebuilds without his help. I visited him in hospital just before Christmas & told him I may have bought another one & he was advising me the best way to to replace the window sills! Noel loved coming out to the farm & would bring his tools & his lunch. He would always have smoko at 10 & listen to the ABC or surf the web looking at stars & space or connecting with family & friends in New Zealand. I think the Globe caravan was his proudest achievement, his Magnum Opus so to speak. It was such a shame Covid prevented Noel & his wife Vicki taking it away for a few days, which they had planned to do. RIP Noel, you will be greatly missed. xxoo

Hi SGTL,
I’m sorry to hear of Noel’s passing. He really was a good friend and secret weapon for the SGTL caravan renovation department - the sort of friend and secret weapon many of us wish we had! However you will be reminded of his skills and good advice each time you look at one of the caravans you worked on together, so his memory will live on..
Condolences to you and his family.
Don Ricardo

So sad to hear of another bit of history pass away. Noel was one of the reducing talents of skills that could put their hands to anything and finish up with a thing of beauty, as is testament to the work he did for you SGTL. People like Noel cross the paths of this forum far too infrequently, but we all thank them for coming our way. May he enjoy his permanent holiday in that "great caravan park in the sky".
