G'day 2sneezles, I can't see any photos on the forum of the Globetrotter you want to make a door for. Is the van a bondwood model, or does it have aluminium cladding?? I also don't know whether there was anything specific about Globetrotter doors, but if you are looking for general info on how to make a replacement door for a bondwood caravan, then the info I posted in my rebuild thread might be of help. Click on this link: vintagecaravans.proboards.com/post/114990/threadIf you have any other questions about how I built mine, fire away! cheers, Al.

Thanks very much. I will check it out. We have 2 bondwood globetrotters both without original doors.

Hi 2sneezles, you'll get the gist of how I made the door jambs from the following post: vintagecaravans.proboards.com/post/78137/threadIt involved glueing two pieces of timber together to give an L-shaped frame around the door opening. The L-shape stops rainwater finding its way into the van, if the water happens to get into the gap around the door itself. The hinges were standard brass butt hinges, fitted the way any other butt hinge is fitted. Nothing special to show you there. cheers, Al.
