Hi, During the recent trip in the Pathfinder our gas fridge stopped getting cold, have talked to people and they suggested i take it out and flip her upside down for a week or so, have done that, is there anything else that i could do while it is out. Had been sitting still for quite a few years, did work at first then stopped. Cheers Stephen&Julie

G'day S&J,
Is the fridge only a gas fridge, or is it a 240V option as well?
Eventually all these fridges become great boat anchors, so that might now be the case with yours. If you've upended it (commonly known as "burping" the fridge), and that hasn't fixed the problem, then you are most likely up for a new cooling unit, or at least a refurbishment of what you've got if that's still possible. Probably big dollars to get that done.
cheers, Al.

Hi Steve & Julie,
I had a fridge that commonly gave this problem. I found it mostly occured after travelling on rough roads. It turned out to be blocked pilot jet. The cause was flaky corrosion insided the gas pipes. I removed the gas pipes and used a bit of steelo on the end of coat hanger wire to clean the inside of the pipes.
Hope this helps
OZ.

Hi guys if your fridge has been working recently turning it upside down won't help. This is only a fix for long standing unused fridges as it get things moving after liquid inside has settled . I tend to think like ozetrade it maybe gas related the gas heats up the liquid and causes a reticulation through the piping . I would start with the simple stuff like that first but don't take my word for it! Check out this www.propanerefrigerators.com/how.phpPs gotta love the Jennison! Cheers Andrew

A van we used to own, when buying, the seller said the fridge never used to work on gas. He tried everything. Turned out there was a wasp nest had blocked up the pipe. He fixed that & it worked beautifully ever after. I would be checking your line before anything else.

If the fridge has just stopped Check for:
If No Ammonia smell or No yellow powder on any of the Boiler/Pipes then the cooling system would appear to be OK.
Is the Burner burning with a clear Blue Flame and is it touching the Boiler. ( Check pipes, Cut off tap and regulator )
Is the Baffle in the Flu positioned correctly. ( The Spiral plate hanging on a piece of wire in the top of the boiler ).
