Thanks Daggsey, You didn't happen to find a bag full of knitting needles out there did you ? I put 'em on top of the camper when we were there about 30 years ago....... I get reminded about that every now and then Lady Madonna's Travels would have been the best movie of them all...... take a movie camera with you next trip you do. We are going to miss this traveling picture show and all the memories... and all the new places.. you have been giving us, thanks for the ride. Cobber.

No worries Chippiedave..........glad to see you're enjoying the journey........... Can ya hang fire for a moment while I cook these Streaky Bay oysters............ ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D OK, where was I,...............that's right....Cobber....ya had a problem with knitting needles...................you know, I looked everywhere for those darned things around Silverton..................I reckon someone pulled the wool over my eyes and all I could find was old FJ carcasses and an immaculate FX from the Broken Hill Car Club........... and by the way Cobber, it's not over till the cholesterol-challenged female of the species warbles ..............we've still got to get to Ceduna and then it is REALLY decision-making time.............turn left to the State of no poker machines, no daylight-saving, no shops open on Sundays, no car-yards open after 12n Saturdays, no OPAL fields, no state labor government , no dust storms, no floods, no organised crime feuds, no Coledale...... or turn right to the other HALF of Australia ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D...... G'day Daggsey and Carrots, Great to see the pics of the Eyre Peninsula. It is a pretty amazing place. I have the pleasure of visiting there for work purposes from time to time - mainly catching up with folk on farms. The first time I went there I headed down from Port Augusta to Whyalla, looked at the scrub and couldn't figure out how anybody could farm that country. Then suddenly - almost like I'd crossed a line - the vegetation changed and I was into some beautiful farming land. In fact the line I crossed was probably pretty close to "Goyder's Line". As you possibly know, Goyder was an SA surveyor who in the 1800's worked out a line on a map above which the rainfall is not reliable enough to cultivate crops. From my understanding his line was pretty accurate, and people who have tried farming above the line have found it fairly tough going. Anyway, enough about that. Thanks again for the photos. I'm still enjoying the journey with you. In fact I feel quite sad that it's getting towards its conclusion - I'll miss your pictorial travel diary when it ends. Don Ricardo

This has been an interesting thread and thanks to you Daggsey and Carrots for all the time and effort you put into maintaining it. To the administrators, When this thread does finally finish, could it perhaps be archived in another spot, AND (dare I say it ;D ) PINNED, so that it doesn't get lost over time It's too valuable and informative not to do that.
