Hi guys and gals, haven't done much posting at all on this site, but do browse every once and a while. Little while ago, picked up a nice 61 or 62 possibly Viscount Caravan. Ok time to get some more pictures, let them do the talking. Was in pretty nice condition for its age, used it once and then decided it was time for a little bit of a tidy up. The plan was for new curtains, change the carpet and possibly the colour scheme. That blew out of proportion slightly as we worked on it. First thing was to remove all the trim and cupboards. Then we started to strip the carpet. WORST JOB I HAVE EVER DONE, 6+ hours of using a scrapper, slowly tearing up inch by inch of carpet (and some ply with it) Due the amount of ply that came up with the carpet, i decided to put in a new ply floor, so that i had something nice and flat to work with.

So next thing was to give the interior of the van a fresh lick of paint. White was the choice, plan and simple. We went with signal red for the cupboard doors. Got all the door handles and hinges re-chromed. And the flooring had to be black and white checkboard. The fridge door is getting a new color, still undecided. Bed is getting a new stronger floor put in, fresh coat of paint. Benchtops are going to be a lot more shiny and found some nice new towel racks to go back in.

Murray, the original owner, who i think had the van since new, has made a few minor modifications on the van to Keep the Kiddies safe, he cut the hole and put a latch on the inside so that he could adjust the burners without removing the whole front section.

shesgothelook, very similiar van, especially the interior layout. Nice!!
Now tonight i have been working on the benchtops, should have one or two of them finished over the next few days, also finished the floor off in the new bed. Will get some pics later.
Next on the agenda is replacing one of the windows?? will do some research on this site.
Plan is to at one stage replace all rubbers etc. Looks like a fun job

Tiny little checks We have had the van for about 9 months now, got told that it had a full annexe, didnt bother to check until tonight. G'day booma, You'd have to be happy with the way it's turned out. Not a bad job at all! Have you discovered a chassis number welded on the front drawbar? Usually it is on the drawbar arm that the jockey wheel is attached to, and it could be the letter 'N' or 'V' followed by some numbers. Have a gander and let me know if you find anything please. cheers, Al.
