Hi guys, straying outside my preferred era here as I may be procuring a 1980s Chesney Sheraton shell, I'm not interested in joining the later van forums as I'm not really into them, I much prefer my vintage vans, I'm just hoping there may be someone that has both vintage and classic tastes on here that may have a bit of info/photos of the interiors of them, as bugger all is available on the net. I remember seeing a couple of Chesney enthusiasts on here once before?

G'day chubi,
It won't be a 1980s Chesney, because they closed down in the dying years of the 1970s when the caravan industry collapsed.
The Sheraton model was introduced during 1975, so you'll have a van from the second half of the '70s.
No doubt if you've searched the internet, you would have found the results for the threads on the Classic Caravans forum, so that's about all the info we've got.
cheers, Al.

I know this is late but I have a Chesney President 16 AeroLite and , as i recall Most if not all have the date welded on to the aframe near the hitch , mine is # EF13563 which according to one of the storys I read about the owner of the company is : 13day 5th month 1963 , thing is it appears that this model didnt seem to be available during that or the next year . This may have been because of prior manufacture of the Frame/running gear stockpiled and not fitted out till it was required Cheers

G'day further to the number mine is BB3981 and is certainly older than 1981manafacture. Mine is a 20" Regal tandem and was first registered in 1968. Hope this helps.

Hi everybody, thanks for the replies. I have indeed searched the net, but found bugger all, even on the CC threads (not a member of that group tho) in relation to the Sheratons. I already own a timber frame 1965 21 foot Chesney Regal (amongst other vans) and I am a Chesney fan, as we had a HUGE one when I was little, and I am currently purchasing a property that has a 21 ft thereabouts Sheraton left on it with no interior, and cut to suit a truck flatbed, sort of like a slide on camper idea. My mate is a builder of trailers and truck bodies etc, we had a look at it and he reckons it will be an easy job to turn her into a 5th wheeler van, which I could tow behind my 4wd 1980 F100. I was just hoping maybe someone had pictures of inside the Sheratons, so we had an idea of what they looked like, to replicate it. It will be our "modern" van, if we do it lol. Graham, have you pictures of your 68 Regal?
