Thanks UK Brian & Cornish Lass, How good of you both to contribute to the forum. British vans are so quaint. I have seen some at steam rallies in Chester & Mansfield air show. There isn't anything like it in Austrlia.......Rallies where there is so much on display....Vintage Vans,Vintage Cars / Bikes also Steam powered everthing (to much to mention) also Showmans Vans, Work Vans vintage fair ground, Vintage Organs & to top it all off a huge boot sale. Yes a ploughmans lunch with a scotch egg cold sausage roll and for Jan a pork pie. Toped off with a cup of Yorkshire tea. See.....just looking at your van has bought all these memories flooding back Thankyou, keep us informed.....Please Bruce...& Jan

Hi Very much like our Pixie. Ours weighed 440kg. Like you we are having trouble finding out the year built, but most caravan experts ( ) seem to think early to mid 60s. I asked the same question here and drew a blank. Even at Coledale this year no one was sure. So...I just say mid 60s to anyone who ask. Although the Pixie is small we found there was plenty of room inside and keep in mind that we are both big. Looking forward to seeing your van around. Bruce & Jan....Fcdriver & Co

Thanks Mark The pixie is usually towed by our EH. The FC although fitted for towing will only tow the Pixie on the odd occasion. Does anyone knows the year this van was built as I have been told by various people they think it to be early to mid 60s. I have cleaned & painted the interier, laid new vinal, fitted new curtains, purchased a new mattress. Externally I have had some waterproofing done, also a few panels re screwed. Next year I hope to renew the front panel & have a canvas awning made up. The van has full NSW registration ready for Coledale. Bruce

Hi Cobber Ahh, the narrow boats. Pulling up at the local pubs on the canals . Would,nt Reddo love that life style. ( no reference to the floods) Now thats a whole different world. I would advise everyone to type in Narrow Boat and experience what some of the Brits enjoy. Sorry I wasn,t at Camden as I had to work. Even the Car Show at Kembla Grange has had to be fitted in between shifts, meaning the V V stays at home. Anyway I allready have leave arranged for Coledale & the South Coast Tour Take Care Bruce

Hi All, Purchased the same BBQ a few weeks ago.....Not for $5. I paid $48......... I was (still am ) happy to pay that amount. Mine is the same but a different pic on the box. Now it came with instructions, original cook book as described in the instructions. It also has an aditional handel to lift the hot plate witch doubles as a bottle opener. Now to date it......... Mine has had very little use and the news paper that the hot plate was wraped in was dated 1963. I believe it to date from the early to the mid 60s. Good buy $5...... Good on you!!! Bruce

Hi All, Maybe it is a good time to remember and appreciate the effort put in by your good self (Jude) Re your help and unsean work you did at Coledale each Year. The trouble you & Jeoff had to & from Mt Gambier makes our smached windsrean on the way to Mt Gamboer look very trivial. Also...the last east Coast Tour didn,t just happen either. We may not be a club...but....for some reason it works. ;D Bruce & Jan

Hi All, As a forum member who only visited this years caravan meet at Mt Gambier as I was partisipating in the FE FC Nationals at the Mount, I wondered how many other forum members had other arangements over easter. I was lucky as I was at the mount. However as our FC still runs a very tired Grey moter I wouldn,t use it to tow a van all the way to M G. (A wise decission in retrospect Hot Hot Hot). So as a lot of us who have vintage , classic vehicles find ourselves allready committed either yearly or bi-yearly to vintage car club nationals etc. Sooo..... Whilst Its great to have the Caravan Nationals close to Easter some of us attending both the Caravn nationals & a car Nationals need to tow their van to "say" Mildura for the Caravan nationals then return home park their van & modern car, jump into their classic car to "say" Orange for their car's nationals. Now....By having two great events to attend by having them both close together only needs one leave application to be applied for at one's workplace, case for keeping them both close together. Now... By having the Nationals further away from easter more Vintage van owners who have various other regular arangements at Easter could attend. """There again""" This is a vintage van forum and its up to forum members to pick their preferance at this time of year. I personally pick another event and don,t attend Munmmorra but put Coledale ahead of any classic car event. Anyway just my thoughts but lets hope we never become a club. Footnote....On the way to the FC Holden nationals we had a smashed windscrean, had to do the timing. vaperising or fuel over & over and other anoying problems to be attended to. However being at Mt gambier it was really nice to at least visit the Vint van nationals and see everone..........Your all a great mob. ;D ;D Bruce & Jan

Hi All Whilst NOT wanting to start a debate may I say... 'What a fine mix of vint vans with a fine mix of tow cars" Classic, Hot Rod, & Modern. A great display............ Now this pic tells me what Vint Vaning is all about. In my opinion this pic says it all. Just wish I was there..... Bruce

Hi All I didn,t see JBJ post that he deleated. No problems...... Beleive me JBJ has some strong views (haven't we all) But I can tell you now he is the first to lend a hand when a help is needed. Travel with him and you will experiance his relaxed way of life. He is a great traveling companion and a lot of fun. Can someone publish a pic of him at the Coldale dinner (dress up ;D) as this shows the relaxed side of him. He is a big pussy cat...........I couldn,t say Tom cat could I.. And besides Sue keeps him in check. Like Surferboy I won't get to MT Gambier untill Thursday myself but I hope JBJ and many others are still there to catch up with. Jan & Bruce

Would hve been nice If you got the Gig with the FE FC Nationals while you were there as the extra cash could have helped to pay for the long trip. Allthough a great night was had at Coledale you and Lyn were missed. But really how can we expect you to travel frow WA to Coledale with all that equiptment. My God we expect a lot.....Don't we.
