G'Day A/T Thanks for inquiring about the don. Yes heaps of progress on the van. All ply on out-side has been re-moved and all timber that needed re-placing has been re-made. The three windows that open have new frames, the five leadlight windows are being re-made and will pick-up this week. We have polystyrene to go on before the out-side new ply sheets go on. The mate that was helping has not been able to give the time needed, so I advertise in our local paper, I now have a retired Man on the payroll, he wanted to work on the van at his place so Earlee and I moved the van, As I do'nt have the time or some of the skills required. Regards David dosse PS we will put some picks up shortley.

G'Day All Well now the fun begins. This is how we found the Don in an old carport in Maleny Qld. We first thought the build number was 944 but in fact it is 844. We towed the van as it was to the Glasshouse Mtns, untill we had finished a new carport at home and obtained a permit to tow it home. -1With the professional help of earlee we repaired the lights and repacked the wheel bearings for the trip home. Earlee drove behind us in the hope that good bits may fall off, but no such luck this time. We got home without any drama. Restoration has started and we have found dry rot and white-ant damage.

G'day all. Neurum creek looks like a good place for our next south-east week-end away. Friday the 16th is good with us.I contacted Neurum Creek and they rang me today, they are looking forward to our visit there is only limited powered sites but this is not problem as we can double up they have asked me to send a deposit on behalf of the group when we confirm the date.If this bush Resort sounds like the place to sit under a big tree and have a drink or seven then you had better put your name to this post. Regards dosse.

G'day phargan Great that your getting away early if it was me I would come up the m1 then on-to the gate-way and then the bruce h/way.Go past the Ettamogah Pub and get onto the sunshine- motorway take it to the very end and turn left into brisbane rd then right into foote st then left into river esp and right into parkyn pde. This is where you will need to pay at this caravan-park you are a-cross the road from Underwater World, they will give you directions to where you need to be. PS the gate-way motorway is abit of a pig between 5.30 and 9.00 am but not impossible Regards dosse .

G'day all. Just an update on whats happening with the Mooloolaba trip. Been in touch with the caravan park today.... they needed to know exact numbers, names and when people are arriving- Friday or Saturday. As mentioned earlier there are only 11 sites available for Friday and an extra 1 on Saturday. As there are 12 vans coming, if we all decide to turn up Friday, obviously someone will miss out. If there is someone who is considering coming up Saturday our problem is solved. I need to get back to the caravan park with this information asap. I have been told that you can't pay prior to arriving.....payment is to be made on arrival at the Parklyn Pde Caravan Park. Any further questions please call me on 0407375941 Regards dosse

G'day all. Thank you for your response to our week-end away. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we only have 13 sites available to us - 8 on the waterfront and 5 directly behind, for that week-end. Of the 8 in the front only 6 sites will be available on Friday and the other 2 will become available on Saturday. So far, we have 11 definites, which means we can all come on Friday if we wish. We only have room for 2 more vans, so if you would like to join us you had
better get in quick. We have been advised that we will not be able to book officially until 2 weeks prior to the weekend, but they have bent the rules a little and have made an unofficial booking for us. If there is anyone out there who would like to join us please let us know by the 18th of December so that we can let the park know of the final figure. Sites are $40 per night with a $20 refundable deposit for the amenities key. Arrival times are after 11am and before 7.30 pm. Payment is to be made at the other Mooloolaba Caravan Park in Parklyn Pde. PS Received pm from Pete and Trish saying they will be coming. Also, spoke to Rod (hillmansafari) and he will be there too.
Regards, David

G'Day All. We have been looking for a suitable camping spot for our February get-together. My wife has found the perfect spot today, called the Oceanbeach Caravan Park, at Mooloolaba. This park has absolute beach frontage/ocean views. The weekend of Friday 8th February to Sunday 10th is available to us .....sites 25 through to 34, with additional sites directly behind. Park has just 34 sites, power and water, 2 BBQ's etc. For those members who do not like the sound of the waves lapping the sand, this will not be the park for you. Our new Don will be making its debut appearance on this weekend. Looking for people's input regarding this caravan park as we need to make a decision ASAP. While the Noosa River Caravan Park was in a beautiful location, the sites available during this period were scattered throughout the park, so we couldn't all be together, and only a very few of the sites had views of the water. Regards, David

G'Day All Thanks Dennis for having a look on our behalf and thanks Ray for suggesting Eumundi. I feel that it could be a little hard to find a pet friendly park in a good area and since our little dog would not know if it was at home or on the Greek-Isles I need the break not our dog. Ray I had a think about Eumundi park and I feel that if we drive the two hours I am going another 20 minutes to Noosa. My wife and I found a great park called the Noosa River caravan Park, This park is in a magnificent part of the noosa river with bbqs on a grassed area on the river. There is sites for 8-12 vintage vans maybe more. Adress is Russell st Noosaville and phone number is 0754497050 if you look the adress up you will see where it is on the River. Park has about 90 sites and is very tidy, I am not suggesting that this is the place as we are a group and would like to here input from other in vintage van land. David .
