Hello Adam - you have done exactly what a lot of us on this forum who are now members initially did...lurk in the background for a while & check out the site......you have come to the right place however. When you eventually "find" the van you fall for...these guys on the forum have so much experience in repairing, renovating etc & will help you out with whatever questions/skull scratching "how on earth do I..." you throw at them! Trust me....been there & done that! I had no idea when I bought my vv what it all entailed. But "Scarlett" aka "Colin" to the rest of my family is ready and complete! So go for it......it's totally addictive by the way. Firstly buying the Van, finding the perfect tow vehicle, not to mention all the paraphernalia you hunt done in second hand shops etc....it is very cool fun! Thanks for the photos by the way...you need to go in & start bargaining! Nothing ventured...nothing gained! So good luck & welcome.........................J

My first car was an LC Torana!!! I loved it and wish, wish, wish I had kept it cause the trade-in price was peanuts & it was in excellent condition! So thank you for the memory......awesome setup! We are still looking at options & my heart broke when Reddo withdrew his Panelvan cause I think I want one like that to tow scarlett - J

Well...love the landrover! It will most likely outlast our current "freeloader we call it". It has been basically repaired in every way, stitched up, re built & is still giving us grief!!! Gotta luv em! But I love driving the damn thing cause it's sooo comfy and easy to handle! AND it's not a city landy it has been taken up dirt tracks that only a wombat would love! Enjoy!

Aww it's a cutie Alison.....and like everyone has already reiterated above...do not be deterred! You are on a mission.....holiday's, holiday's, holiday's in a retro van that will turn many more heads than a newbie van ever will!!! I noticed it had sliding cupboard overhead doors. Do you know I have only ever come across two other vans on this site with sliders! Mine does also and I thought originally that they had been converted...but they haven't! You will love fitting out your vv and will stand back with absolute pride when completed! ENJOY! J

Why would you tamper with something that looks immaculate already and sooo authentic and cute? If it was mine...ummm...I would leave it as it is......it's so special! J

Never too old to learn I say......everything above has been said that I agree with! I am one of those "chicks" err lady thank you very much who has NEVER towed a caravan in my life....my theory....I am never going to either! That's the "dudes" err "gentleman's (The boy's) job! Of course assuming that a male travels on holiday with you of course! BUT...I have seen plenty of ladies towing huge trailers/vans & horse floats so it can't be that hard! The vehicle must be the key... Distributing the weight in the van is also paramount....proved that when we towed our vv! J

Well....the extinguisher in my vv was pre-ordained. The previous gent did all the thinking. I simply pulled off the old one (wasn't happy with the date stamped 1983) & put the new one in it's place. Like Don Ricardo....it is placed near the door entrance (dinette end) for ease of reach both when in the van or if you were to be outside......the fire blanket hangs beside the stove...also within easy reach! Hope this is helpful? Jenniewren
