Hi all, it is getting near time to get an awning/annex made for Hilda A Clipper. I need about 10 original style (2 piece?) wooden poles so I can get the heights, eyelets, etc sorted out before I go ahead with it. Please have a look down in the back corner of the shed to see if you have any. Hopefully someone out there has a few poles extra to requirements that they would be willing to sell. Also need a pole carrier for the van. Prefer an original gal sheet tube in excellent condition if possible. Has anyone wrecked a van that had an original tube on it? Thanks, Leigh.

G'day Leigh, I can help out with another two or three of the old-style, to add to F/f's offer, except that not even an Olympic javelin thrower could get them from my place to yours, so we'd have to work out a way to shift them. Check with your canvasmaker if they have the #9 eyelets (aka 'grommets') required for the old wooden poles. They may have to go hunting for them, because that size isn't used much these days. They'll probably have to go hunting in their shed for the punch and die for the setting machine as well ("Gees, mate, haven't done that size in years!!") Let me know if you need any of my stash. cheers, Al.

f/f, pm sent.
Al, thanks for the offer. I will see what turns up locally but you wont be forgotten! Thanks for the tip re eyelets. This was one of the reasons I want the poles before committing myself to the awning.
Gordon, have been checking Ebay and I knew about the Qld ones. I will be watching the others though, missed them!
Cheers, Leigh.
