We were over in South Gippsland picking up a treasure when we came across something....
There was a nervous walk across this :
Did you notice that piece of board in the middle of the third picture? It was a lump of 4x2, over a metre long.
We were about 10-15 feet above the creek bed.
Thank god for the fortifying Strongbow I had in my hand - talk about "courage in a bottle"!
A glimpse through the trees....can you spot it
Taaaahhhh daaahhhh... ;D
Rego label says it was last registered in Oct '88:
Original paint scheme:
Tow bar:
Wheels:
Tank filler:
Door:
Floor:
Inside facing rear:
Wardrobe:
Kitchen area:
Did you note the extra deep stove area?
Original stove top:
Also, the separate area for the fridge, as opposed to the usual “under sink/bench top” type:
Dining area:
Ceiling:
Missing wheel spats:
What you get is what you see.
A project not for the faint-hearted, but worthy if you’re nearby and need somewhere to “store” your hard earned cash.
We don’t know the make, the length, width or weight.
No make on the van (it was painted over), didn’t have a tape measure with us (but somehow we had everything else in the boot...the esky, a Phillips head....YES, a Phillips head!....screwdriver, a jack, those trusty cable ties that fix most issues and countless other paraphernalia for the “just in case this happens” type scenarios) and although it was still slightly light, the rego label was quite faded and hard to read...let alone take a coherent photo of.
Which leads me to making a sincere apology for the smudgy photos!
Just because I have a new phone with a 12 mega something thingamajig doesn’t mean I can rely on its integrity when I need to!
These are the photos that worked out reasonably well enough to post, I lost count of how many I had to delete!
The van is located just west of Yarram in South Gippsland, Vic.
Please PM us for the owner’s contact details.
We respectfully request that you only ask for contact details if you are genuinely interested in picking up the entire van.
The owner is a busy guy and we don’t want to mess him around.
BUT ....we may have convinced him to become a forum member
Cheers,
Kylie (.....and Dale!).
