Here's a project van for someone with a few skills. Olympic Riviera chassis number 1350 which makes it a 1967 model. The good bits are that the chassis is OK just the usual surface rust. The hard to get bits ie the door/hinges/hatch are intact. The bad bits are the cab needs to be lifted off the chassis as the floor needs replacing. It would need new bearers and floor fibreglassed back into it. Two windows are missing and one needs the glass replaced. All other window glass is intact.

Hi All,
Just to let everyone know, we need a window assembly like the middle one on the right side, 900 overall length & 400 deep, to put into Deejay. That will restore the original style to its side window that has been added sometime in the past. Happy to pay a reasonable price, but want it complete with all bits. Broken glass is acceptable, same as damaged screens.But I dont want to be chasing hinge & catch bits. May as well buy a new one as look for bits.

Gidday Bob, looks like a little bit of work there. The orphan should still come up a treat though. The best thing with this project is that someone could make the interior however they wanted to.

Hi Bob and Jacqui A nice save there, surely someone will see this as a good project. The cabs were built with more glass in them in '67-8, so this one should clean up well, first thing is to waterproof it to stop any further damage. So from that point of view, the sooner someone puts their hand up the better. Another one for the register. Cheers boblor

Hi bobandjaqui, How are you both, a quick question on the Riviera Shell for sale, why would you need to take the cab of the chassis to repair the floor, as the floor and joists are above the fibreglass bottom.? Hope to see you at the Nationals.

G'day Case, Your right, the floor could be repaired just by jacking up the cab to get it back in shape and putting in the new one. The shell was used for storage and the weight of the stuff stored put pressure on the internal walls. Also all the cupboards etc have been removed which normally give the cab internal strength In my original description I didn't want to give the impression that this project is an easy fix. This Van is well worth saving. It will be good to catch up you both at the Nationals Cheers Bob and Jacqui

Only because I'm not that far away from undertaking the process of fixing the floor - could you tell me exactly where and how you would jack the body up? What points specifically? How would you recommend supporting the shell? (I'll have a chat to Boblor too...)
It might be an option before we go the whole body off route if the chassis isn't that bad. I'm going to see if I can't get a look at the chassis underneath to determine if the rust we can see needs a more serious treatment or if we can do what we have heard others have done - which is jack up the front, deal with the chassis with POR15 and paint, let her down and repeat on the other end. I was making an assumption that when this had been done in the past the shell was empty - but was it?
Any advice greatly appreciated. Seeshell

Hi Franklin1 I had poured over Atog's site, and read Tonyh's before, but you're right - you do pick up much more on the third and fourth reading. Much appreciated. Some very good work done by both gents - I get inspired and terrified each time I look at their posts. It appears people have been VERY reluctant to separate the chassis and body. Case mentioned, when he was around the other day, that Boblor had done the bum-up, bum-down, front-up, front-down chassis cleanup so I'll pick his brain. Poor Bob, he's not going to have much left the way we're forever taking bits of it! Thanks all Seeshell
