G'day everyone! I was just wondering what kind of insulation people use in caravans? I think Styrofoam (how ever yu spell it) is about the cheapest but it is very flamable. Is glasswool any good in caravans? I don't mind spending a bit of money but i don't have heaps! Thanks everyone! Cheers Ben

Hi Ben. Welcome to the forum. Pink/yellow fibreglass batts. Not that expensive. Just make sure you have no leaks or can see where there might have been. If there were any,see if you can sort it out then fill the sides/roof etc. With these batts, best to wear gloves & goggles as can get a bit itchy.Pretty straight forward job. Probably good idea to grab a couple of cans of spray adhesive.Measure (twice) cut (once),quick spray of the glue on the panel, wait a minute & then slip the cut portion into place. Cheers gordon

G'day ben, I see in one of your other threads that you've agreed to buy a Sunliner. Putting insulation inside the fibreglass shell is probably not as easy as putting it into the normal timber framed vans. The Sunliner/fibreglass experts on the forum should be able to tell you how they went about doing it with their vans (assuming they did put insulation in). The job might end up being easier if you had eight arms like an octopus cheers, Al.
