Howdy Cruz. There are some units available on "the bay" for such like applications. Alternatively, a lot of 4x4s have a small chiller system fitted within the console. If you`re friendly with your local wrecker (slab of beer?) you might be able to adapt a chiller to the ice box. cheers gordon

Hi Leanne, my memory plays up on me at times, but I can't recall reading on the forum about anybody installing a cooling system into an icebox. I've seen the reverse situation, where people have discovered the icebox has been converted to a refrigerator. In nugget's restoration (Reply #7), and in my Second project, we both removed the "modification". So it's obviously possible to do something with the icebox, but beyond that I can't help you with any further knowledge, sorry. cheers, Al.

I looked into doing the same thing some years ago, and found that Vitrifrigo sell evaporative plates and remote compressors (which could sit under a dinette bench seat) for converting ice boxes to fridges. When I priced them at the time, they were almost as expensive as buying a whole 3way fridge. Here is a link to what they are about: www.camec.com.au/images/brochures%20pdf/VITRIFRIGO.pdfCheers Ray
