Don't know much about the modern van covers. They aren't cheap from what I've seen. I tarped the Superb at one stage, for about 12 months and it chafed the paint quite badly in that time. What about those "garage" style freestanding ones you get from Supercheap? You may have to extend the legs a bit to get clearance, but at least they won't be so rough on the paintwork. Ray

A lass I know near my place had a small bondy tarped up and parked outside. She removed it recently to find it was sweating and deteriorating accordingly. We have had an unusually wet period (for the canberra region that is!) lately but so has SA, I believe. Perhaps an old parachute under the tarp as a liner may absorb some of the condensation/moisture and prevent chafing. I cover mine (allbeit in the shed) with one and they are big enough that you could make up two liners from the one chute with no trouble. Local para club may have an oldie they could sell you at a reasonable cost jennison

G'day Dave,
I also don't know much about the latest caravan covers, so I'm no help there. I had to park my van out the backyard for a couple of months while I did some work in the garage on bits and pieces for it. I put a length of carpet over the roof of the van (fibre side down) and then laid a "heavy duty" plastic tarp over that before tying everything down. The carpet was wide enough to just fold down over the roof edges and protect the edge moulding. I only had it out there for a "short time", but there was no chaffing of the tarp or the van body, and we had a couple of real windy periods during that time.
