G'day All, The following Bi-Tone caravan is currently listed on ebay, but I've put it here because it interests me... It is listed as 8m x 2.2m, but I don't know whether the 8m is the cabin length or the overall length. Irrespective, I wonder whether this would be one of the largest vintage vans we've come across? I've studied the photos closely, but I can't tell whether the sides are bondwood or flat aluminium. Either way, I'm guessing the van can't be later than around 1963. (no internal photos available) The seller has a lovely turn of phrase in the sales campaign... "You are biding on used Caravan, Motor-home 8m long and 2.2m wide. It is successful home on wheels which have to be renovated. When you are living inside you have filling you are in real unit with three rooms. It is consist of: Bedroom with double bed, sanitary part and large Kitchener- meal room. All rooms with beautiful view and plenty daylights. The New Caravan this size cost $150 000 plus. It is ideal for the handyman with the family to live in and slowly improve quality of life with low budget." [the dream could be yours with a starting bid of $7900 or a buy-it-now price of $8500]Who are our resident Bi-Tone experts?? cheers, Al.
