G'day rayboy, is that number located on the front drawbar somewhere? Is it stamped or welded? Can you take a close-up photo showing the number and where it is on the van, please? Even if you can't post the photo on the forum, I can send you an e-mail address so you can post it directly to me.
Thanks for any help.
cheers, Al.

So glad to see this vv... as it is identical to ours - now I know ours is definitely a '59 franklin! A tad updated albeit but the same shape & windows. I can even make out the original outline of a single stripe that "was" there! We have 2 new speed stripes - makes it go faster in a head wind I am guessing! I am going out to see if I can find a chassis # that looks like the above as I didn't know what to look for before! Have a feeling we have a knew drawbar! Hope the reno are going along nicely Rayboy! Regards Jennie

G'day rayboy, Well, it does...and it doesn't... I now know you have one of the earliest Franklin chassis numbers we've come across. I also now know I have no idea what it relates to. I'm going to add your van to the Franklin Chassis Register, and hope that in time we'll collect other examples from the early years to be able to decode what the numbering system was back then. Thanks for sending it through. cheers, Al.
