G'day All, I know there's a wealth of information within this website and its members about vintage caravans. (I'd like to catch up with some of you one day and find out how you track down all the relevant stuff). I thought I'd let you know about a project being completed to connect all Australian libraries and their 40 million-strong collections on the internet. Go to: librariesaustralia.nla.gov.au/apps/kssand key in any search word (eg. caravan) There's not a lot there about old caravans in Oz, but there are some interesting references to various Caravan Clubs throughout the states, and books that people have written about the history of the clubs, sometimes going back to the 1950s. The site also has links to their collection of photos, eg: www.ntlib.nt.gov.au/ntlpicweb/scripts/ExtSearch.asp?SearchTerm=23927and www.slv.vic.gov.au/pictoria/b/0/4/doc/b04056.shtml(copy and paste the whole string into a new browser page) So all in all, it's not an expansive source of info (and maybe this is where you guys can fill in some stuff for future generations), but it could be another tool to help in some way. cheers, Al.
