We were up in Cairns last week for a "getaway" break. Wandering around the local shopping centre, I happened to notice some posters hanging in the Williams shoe store. Went back to the car and grabbed the camera, and asked for permission to photograph the posters... If you've got a broadband connection, you can see larger photos at their website. If you are on dial-up, don't bother! The flash software takes too long to load up on your computer. This link is for the main page showing a couple of photos: Williams the shoemen1And this link is for the catalogue of posters: Williams the shoemen2 and click on the "All Pages" tab on the right. Pop into your local Williams store for a look-see at the large posters! While you're there, have a look at the large range of shoes available!! (a shameless plug in case there are copyright issues with the posters ) Wouldn't mind getting some of those posters when the advertising campaign is finished. cheers, Al.

Hi Cobber and Al,
For what it's worth the van has Bosse style windows, so that suggests early to mid 50's, perhaps. Looking at the side profile, the floorline at the rear reminds me a bit of JBJ's Lucille - sweeping up towards the back and with a fairly sharp curve leading onto the rear wall. At the front wall there is a hint of a curve at floor level, again like Lucille where the curve is a little more pronounced (not unlike a SA Clipper).
