Sorry to hear that Banno , OB & Lyn that you can't get down here to the Border Ranges. I'll put the Nimbin cookies in the fridge for you for later on. You'll be able to track the proceedings on the follow up pictures when you get clear again. Seeyabothatthenextone hopefully. Paul & Yoko (We'll all miss the pancakes Banno!!!)

G'day Paul. Only a couple of weeks to go. What's happening on the Friday night? Is there a pub or club handy or do we have a B.B.Q Just thought I'd ask the question. Cheers Bob and Jacqui

Thanks for bringing it up Bob&Jacqui, I've been so busy lately I didn't give it a thought but there is a B-B-Q there and the hosts will be laying on a little music for us so a B-B-Q sound like a good idea. So far there are only ten bookings so it should be easily catered for and I'll get more info from Lee and Roger and post it up here along with a list of the gang that are booked in. Camp ovens will be the go for the Saturday night I think and I'll get a trailer load of timber over there for the fire if my timber stays dry? Pray for some better weather though if you can!! Back when I get more info, Paul & Yoko

Hi All,
We bought a camp oven & need to christen it, so this run will do for that.
I reckon enough food cooking will happen so no one goes hungry.
We,ve also bought a few sets of Jaffle irons for snacks, so we can repeat the feeding frenzies we had at Meandara last year.
Should be a great weekend if the rain eases, cause Wadeville is really in the bush. Aint no pubs or clubs within easy driving distance.
It would be best to bring most of what you expect to consume over the weekend, as the local supplies will be restricted. That is unless things have changed since i was last out there.

Hi yoosall, Stopped off at the Border Ranges Centre today after being "breathalyzed" at Cawongla!!!! ? to find out about a B-B-Q and yes they have one in the camp kitchen which we can use. Also inquired at Cawongla store and restaurant for Friday nights feed and if I can give them some numbers of the attendees wanting wood fired Pizza or from the blackboard menu they are only too pleased to feed all that want to go the 8 kilometers down the hill. They have to have numbers by the Thursday morning to accommodate us. Camp ovens - yes please! for Saturday night and better to have too many than...........not enough. So far the caravan park have 12 bookings and gave me a list but I don't suppose its final but that number sounds 'comfy' for the venue. I would like to echo the words of Dennis and may even go to church on Sunday to pray for fine weather. Eight sleeps to go! ;D ;)Thanks for your input. Give me an idea who would be in the feed at Cawongla please. Paul & Yoko

Hi Bob & Jacqui,
Out in those hills I am surprised there is even a Pizza shop. it would be pretty good quality you would think to survive with very limited numbers of customers.
You wont get home delivery, & the 8 km Paul mentioned will probably be on windy narrow roads, possibly even dirt surfaced.

Hi All, I am happy to go with the flow. If everyone wants to go pizza/menu from local store - then that's fine with me. If everyone wants to stay at the park and have a bbq then that's fine with me aswell. I suppose really that having something bbq'd and served with a salad is the heathier option anyway Sorry, don't have a camp oven as yet, so can't bring one along. See you soon Di

Hi all, Its paved road down to the restaurant which is a proper sit down affair and the B_B_Q should be enough for the numbers of folk booked but I only live 2 k's away if we need another B_B_Q at short notice. I can be back there with it in Half an hour. In fact if we need anything it'll only be half an hour. I'll bring a trailer of wood and chain saw and an axe and anything else I can think of but I don't have a cap oven only a very large cooking pot. There's plenty of road kill for you round here Dosse, only the freshness is debaitable!? Sorry to hear you won't make it John and Di we will take plenty of picies for you though.
Pray a bit of dry folks!

Hope you all have a good time, eating strange cookies and sniffing interesting wood and grass on the bon fire . Over the same time frame, Sylvia and I will be a "Dicky Beach" in the Arrow and Disco, surrounded by Jap 4WD's and white aluminium Caravans ;D This will be Arrow test number two, to see if all the new power points and additional luxuries (hidden electric water pump, awning, etc) will keep the wife happy. Cheers, Ron

Hi all I'm bringing a couple of kg of chicken pieces for Sat night, so can either bbq them or camp oven them. We'll also bring the Weber bbq with lid, in case there's not enough camp oven/bbq space. Do you need any more firewood?Looks like the weather is going to be great. Just phoned C/park to ask re dogs, guy very friendly, said we will just about fill them up. They're prepared for music, campfire etc on Sat night. There's a fridge in camp kithchen,& the shop has grog bread etc "you won't starve here".

Hi All, Well I would just like to put myself forward for the hard luck award (if there is one). I left Caloundra this morning at 9.30am for my quick 1 hour trip to go and pick the van up. I had managed to get everything done that I needed to do yesterday and so I thought that I would drive straight down to Wadeville this morning after collecting the van. Anyway long story short, it's now just after 4.30pm and I am still in Caloundra - got home (with car and caravan) about 15 mins ago. I'll fill you all in re: today's adventures, on the weekend. At the moment I could eat the leg of a low flying duck (nothing since early breakfast). So am about to go eat. But suffice to say, you can't keep a good woman down and I will be driving down to Wadeville tomorrow instead. See you soon. Di

G'day all, Thanks Paul for the picking this beautiful spot in the Border Ranges...just magic. Also for all the groundwork you did & for everyone who attended. Here are just a few shots.......... We followed the rainbow and look what we found at the end....Wadeville [ The pea & ham soup, made by Barb & Clyde was so delicious, Di couldn't get enough of it. Our head chef Pete, (Pete & Trish), would be so proud of us.... Cooked to perfection........ This old Morris van was parked on the side of the road at the Kyogle Markets i57.photobucket.com/albums/g206/Dossedry/1268552516.jpg[/IMG] At the Channon Markets....Trevor & Julie braving the weather with Dosse looking pretty under his frilly brolly Looking forward to our next run.
