Hello Its been a while since I was on the board. I have had trouble re logging on so are using a new log in name. Been renovating houses lately and now have gotten back to Marilyn. The poor girl has been neglected and has been under a tarp for a while now. Some of you may remember Marilyn. She went through a few name changes but Marilyn has stuck. I have had her three years now gee time flies. This photo taken a couple of years ago We finally built a garage at another property we own and are ready to move her there Problem is Marilyn may not make the journey as its time for her to be given a new lease of life The interior kero stove, icebox etc are still good but we need to completley remove all the outer ply and re vamp her As you can see she needs a makeover now We do not want to tow her to her new garage as there is wood rot around the edges. If we put her on the back of a trailer I guess we will have to wrap her up so she doesnt fall apart ! Poor Marilyn I still like you !

My goodness, it HAS been a long time since we last heard from you! I really had to put the old 'grey matter' to the test to remember who you are!! I had to do a search of the forum to remind myself about your Newcastle caravan, and I also discovered you were going overseas for a few weeks/months back in 2007. And now you're telling us you've been busy renovating houses, so it's no wonder you've dropped off our radar! So...WELCOME BACK!! ;D ;D Great to hear from you again, and great to know the little van is still alive and (sort of) well! I remember when you originally named your van "Marilyn" and I came across a magazine out of the local paper that had a front cover photo of the Marilyn. I kept it thinking it might be of some use to you...only to discover you'd decided to change the van's name to "Alice"! So I chucked the magazine out. And now you're telling me it's gone back to being Marilyn. Kathryn, Kathryn, Kathryn...I realise it's a woman's prerogative to change her mind...but you're killing me here! If you're putting the van in the new shed (love the colours...great minds think alike ), does that mean it will get worked on, or stored away?? Too good a little van to be kept in the dark! Stop being a stranger...hear?! ;D ;D cheers, Al.

Hello Al
Ye the garage is a nice colour. It matches the house, a little cottage same blue and white.
A few years ago I suggested we convert our garage into a rumpus room so we had to put Marilyn around the back as she wouldnt fit under the carport.
Now that we had built this new garage Marilyn can go in there.
All I have to do now is find someone to restore her for me.
My husband would prefer to work on a car than a caravan !
So at least Marilyn will be under cover.
Does anyone on this forum know of a person who restores bondwood vans? Kathryn
