Hi!
I found a Quest caravan on my travels today, it's needs a fair bit of work but seems complete apart from the hatch. Had a look at History Lane and it looks like a Trendsetter.
Does anyone know much about these vans, what should a rough one be worth?
Any help would be greatly apreciated!
Thanks, Andrew

Hi Andrew, it's always difficult to give an "accurate" figure on what old vans are worth. With 730-odd members on this forum, you're likely to get 730 different opinions about the value of vans. Really, the bottom line is what is the van worth to you? How much would you be prepared to pay for it - not, how much do you think it's worth on the open market? I've seen vans in what I consider to be shocking condition, go for over $2000; and I've seen others in quite good condition go for around $1500 or less. There's no rhyme or reason with any of this valuation stuff, as far as I've seen over the last three years. Best to determine what you would pay for it, and negotiate around that figure. If you're not successful, keep the money in your pocket. Not a great deal of help in giving you an exact figure, I know, but it's all too darn hard to get an approximate value in this game. cheers, Al.

Thanks Al, you're right! Beauty (and value) is in the eye of the beholder!
More important things I'd like to know are the pros and cons of glass, aluminium and bondwood, are glass vans lighter or stronger, easier to repair? Better for towing?
We were swaying more towards a silver aluminium van, but the Quest caught my eye from the road, the styling looks a bit quirky which really made me take notice!
Thanks, Andrew
