Hi lozz & gazz, and welcome to the forum. ;D Looks like somebody's already saved you a lot of work, and has painted the van for you! So there's some money saved that you can spend on other things Would you have a look on the front drawbar just beside the jockey wheel, and tell me what the number is that's welded there please? Also, what information do you have that tells you it's a 1966 van? Lots of fun ahead of you! cheers, Al.

Hi again lozz & gazz thankzzzzz for the chazzzzzis number [sorry about that lozz & gazz...the darn 'z' button on my computer has gone a bit haywire...dunno why!? ] If we believe the Franklin chassis number information we've collected so far, then your van is a Franklin Mini made approximately in February 1966. It originally would have been plain aluminium cladding with a stripe along the sides. If you click on this link [ Franklin History ] and scroll down the page to Reply #56, you will see a Franklin Mini and a Franklin Caravelle from the 1966-67 period. Your van would have looked something like....Waiiit a minnnnnute!...I just realised something...Does your van look like this from the rear??.. ...And did your van feature in our 2007 Vintage Caravans calendar?? [drats!..can't find my copy to show you the photo] Well, blow me down! Your van's been around us already for a bit, eh? Can't keep a good Franklin down! cheers, Al.

Hi Lozz & Gazz, Welcome to the V V forum. That's a neat little van you have there. As a matter of fact I think it appeared in the 2007 Vintage Caravans calendar and a picture of it was posted on the Franklin thread in the Down History Lane section on the forum. If you click here and look half way down the page you will find the photo. Is that your van? If it is, Franklin1 (AKA Al) - who is a bit of an authority on Franklin vans - has identified it as a Franklin Mini. There is further information about the Mini model on the Franklin thread (see page 4). There is also another Mini owner on the forum see here. Don Ricardo

First suggestion for the names.
Name the car Benjamin, which of course leads to the van being Franklin!
Welcome to the weird and wacky world of Vintage caravans.
Cheers, Leigh.

Hi Lozz & Gazz,
You asked "Now how do I get a hold of one of those calenders?".
That's a good question, since when they're sold there's usually none left. 2007 was the first Vintage Caravan Calendar and we only printed 100 copies. So it's almost as rare as a 1927 bondie!
But as it turns out, I still have one mint copy of the 2007 calendar in my drawer. I've been looking for a good home for it, and it sounds like you fit the bill nicely.
If you send me your mailing address by personal message, I will mail it to you. For free.
Cheers, Papa Razzi
