I spotted a bondy this week in the ACT. IT appears to be very like the one belonging to harveyEH(see shannons show & shine in "events") although I think it may be just a little bigger then harveys . After knocking and finding no one home, I took a photo FROM THE DRIVEWAY which DonR will be posting again shortly on my behalf. As I said in my first thread I will be returning to the VVs' location to make contact with the owners and hopefully introduce myself, -explain how and why I came to see the van ie: that I am a VV nutter, -seek permission for more comprehensive photos, -find out its history, -ascertain the owners intentions as to whether they aim to sell or restore the VV and then in regard to my last point, - hopefully steer them in the direction of the VV forum. Hope thats dotted the Tees and crossed the Eyes!!(crikey, how do you spell that last word right?)(I mean correctly?!) Jennison

Posted on behalf of Jennison:What a great find Jennison. It does bear a bit of a resemblance to HarveyEH's van which can be seen here and here, although the front windows are placed differently. But still, seeing that there are two of them, maybe they were built by a yet unrecognised ACT caravan manufacturer... ;D ;D ;D ...or should that be It will be interesting to see what other information you can obtain. The following Home Beautiful booklet was listed on x-bay recently. The photos show vans that are not unlike the one jennison has discovered above... There was no date given for the booklet, but a forum member may be able to shed a bit more light on the year, and what other contents there were in the 22 pages. We already had the front cover of this booklet in the DHL "Reference books..." thread, and I've added this photo into that thread. cheers, Al. (ps. jennison...t's and i's ...or... 't's and 'i's )

Well , it's a small , small world. I went around there today and the husband came out the front and we talked VVs for a bit. It was his wifes'van. When she appeared shortly after, I couldn,t believe my eyes. She is the younger sister of my best mate of 45yrs and I have known her since she was a baby! The VV itself is one I posted pics of about 12-15 months ago. The owner at the time did not want to sell it but , apparently, they moved and Cally(current owner) was a friend of hers and bought it. She is planning to do it up and it is still dry inside, which is good to hear, however at least now if she does change her mind, we are guaranteed she will ring me first! sorry for the false alarm jennison

G'day Jennison - What a fantastic coincidence that it ended up that the bondy is owned by someone you know! Rather ironic really given the events which followed your original post about it! ;D ;D ;D And you've also solved a puzzle I was about to ask you about! A day or so ago, while looking for something else, I came across the following photos you sent me a while back and which you referred to in your most recent post. For a while I thought there must be a third bondy of similar design in the ACT!! But we're back to two after your explanation. Don Ricardo

Yep, thats the beast DonR. I get the impression that Cally was not 100% sure about the resto of the VV and was glad to find that I was keen, in case she decides not to go on with it. She has already had it 12 months or so and as yet has not had the time. I just begged them to buy a tarp for it in the meantime. Apparently Cally was the one who actually found the VV on ebay for her friend originally, with her friend travelling to Victoria to collect it - gippsland area I think she mentioned. Thats why Cally had first dibs when they decided to sell suddenly. Thanks for reposting those old photos, it is a very nice old VV jennison
