Hey John, Thanks for the photos. As a person who wasn't able to attend, even as a day visitor, I've been really looking forward to seeing some pics. A nice collection of vans - not to mention the tow cars. Could be a scene from a 60's postcard. Not too sure about that Winnebago, bussy type thing in the last photo though - it looks like...oooh...I'm guessing say a 1972 or 1973 model to me. How did that get into a 60's postcard? I guess these days with photoshop anything can happen! ;D ;D ;D Don Ricardo

Hey Scoot, The yellow van with the red windows belongs to John himself. There are a couple of threads for his van. He did what you might call a root-and-branch, all-or-nothing type restoration on it! Don Ricardo Hey there D/R...WTF is a 'root and branch"... anything...heard KRudd use the term last night for the first time ...can someone translate it into English... root and branch (formal) if something is changed or removed root and branch, it is changed or removed completely because it is bad. Hi guys, Glad you have enjoyed my photo's. I love the shot with the winnebago, that thing had everything!! I couldn't help get a photo of the new and the old, it was probally three times the size of my little van. Looking forward to the next one. Cheers, John

Hi John, Doug & Vicky and other Cowes rally-ites,
Just wondering who owns the Roma in John's photos? Is it someone from the forum?
For so long we have been saying that it is strange we've seen very few Romas on the forum, and then in quick succession we've seen pics of Groovygramps Roma and the one at Cowes. Let's hope a few more Romas emerge from the shadows. They've been around since 1928 apparently, so they deserve a bit of the spotlight!

Thanks Whippy. I see Mgal has only recently joined the V V forum. Welcome Mark - great van you have there. Good to see another Roma out and about! If it's OK with you (and John), I'll copy a photo of your van to the Roma history thread under the Down History Lane section as a reference point for others looking for info. Don Ricardo

Dear Boblor, Yes! A long tow over the Bolte and on the Monash on Friday night..but well worth it!! The kids and I were really comfortable..except for when I crept out in the night to the ablutions block..lovely still night..footpath glistening in the moonlight..came out again and the heaviest rain I've seen in a long while stopped me in my tracks! The decision whether to hang around in daggy pyjamas all night or get soaking wet was a difficult one..dashed back to the van..which was furthest away from the block and was suitably soaked.. Apart from that everything was great! Cheers!!
