Recently purchased a caravan but previous owner had no clue what model/type of caravan it is. It was sitting unloved for over 20years on someone’s farm and then the guy did it up. However it needs modernising and would love to know what it actually is. Upon ripping out the sink unit, on the wheel arch is stamped Lysaght. Was this manufacturer used in NZ for caravans? Hi Lana, Welcome to the Forum and thanks for telling us about your van. We’ll try and help you identify it if we can, or connect you with someone who can. I see you’re having trouble posting photos of your van from your mobile. There’s instructions on how to do that if you click here. Note that because you are posting from your mobile there is an extra little step you need to follow. If you are still having trouble, you are welcome to email your photos to me and I’ll happily post them for you. My email is caravanhistory@gmail.com Regarding your question about Lysaght in New Zealand, Lysaght’s steel mills were/are located in Australia but I am almost certain that they did supply materials (galvanised iron, etc) to NZ because there is a ‘John Lysaght Limited’ building in Auckland which would have been their NZ office back in the day. Lysaght was taken over by BlueScope Steel which still supplies steel to NZ. Hope that helps? We’ll look forward to seeing the photos of your van and hopefully help you to work out its origins.
