By gee, reddo, poor old KB2 (Admin) must age a bit each time she sees one of your posts. Havent read the ebay description of this thing . but by the look of the square section it is/was probably marketted by hayman reese.
Looks like it would have good shock absorbing qualitys with that big springy thingy in there.
Might take a bit of the jarring effect away from the tow hitch anchor points on the car.

Howdy, the tow head with the springy thingy was designed and marketed by Eric Hayman of Hayman Reese fame. It was his retirement project meant to be used behind any truck/4 wheel drive etc that had a very stiff and unforgivivg rear suspension

Hi V V ers.
Lazza is correct.These tow hitches were designed to be used on the back of a four wheel drive, probably around the mid 80s. Back then caravan manufactures wouldnt garantee
there vans if they were towed by a 4 wheel drive with out one of these or a tow bar with
the tongue on a rubber torsion arm.
