Hi All Does anyone know of or have build plans for a Propert Van that I could copy? I am toying with the idea of possibly building an Off Road one to tow behind our 4x4. So no laughing. ;D ;D Thanks Ian

Hi Ian. I havnt seen any plans, probably cos they were patented. But if you are keen you can measure up and photograph my propert if that will help.
Cheers. Trodler.

Hey, Ian...where you been? Haven't seen you on the forum for awhile, so hope everything's been ok. Whatever happened to that little van you were working on last year? (from Big Didda wasn't it?). I go past your place occasionally and haven't seen the garage doors open, so I was wondering whether you were still there or not?! Anyways, a few months ago I came across this page of an old calendar, for sale in a local Op Shop. Immediately thought of you... Too big to scan it all, so left side shows part scan, and right side shows full page shot. Let me know if you still live on the dog leg and I'll chuck it on your front step. Good picture to hang in an old van! cheers, Al.

Hi Ian My understanding of the patent is that it was only the folding mechanism that was patented, not the rest of the van. As well, my understanding is also that patents are only valid for 50 years, (like song copyrights) and are then public domain. If you plan to build an "off-road" version of the Propert, when you go to Trodler's place and measure his van, make sure you measure each and every piece of the van. For instance, when I repaired mine, I found that even the front and rear width measurements of the trailer section are different, cos they have different sized shells etc. So good luck with it! Ray
