Hello, first post on the forum and straight in with a question! What exactly did we just inherit? This vintage van came with the block and we'd love to find out more about it. To me it looks very much like a Viscount Supreme...but it has Fleetwood badges. The sticker on the side states 700 Series Supreme, but I can't find any specific reference to this model. Did Fleetwood perhaps purchase bare Supremes and then fit their own interior and re-badge? Most Supremes seem to have a window between the door and front bay, and a U-shaped seating arrangement. Ours has no window there and the seating is L shaped. Also, there is an archway (70's style) between the kitchen and bedroom area at the rear. The Fleetwood badge definitely has that 70's look to it. We would love to find any original pics of the interior or any period advertisements. If possible we'd like to restore what we can, as this vintage van is going to be our temporary home on-and-off for a few years. Cheers,

Hi Chrisall, welcome to the wild and wacky world of Vintage Caravans.
I think what you have is a Viscount Supreme.
Fleetwood was a caravan dealer based in Maddington (as per the badge).
Cheers, Leigh.

Possibly a 78 model? Bit hard to tell without more detailed pics. The chassis number on the drawbar will divulge the year

G'day chrisall,
You'll get a lot more info about your van on our sister forum for 'Classic Caravans' built from 1970 to 1979. Click on this link: ditzygypsy.proboards.com/
Look for the chassis number on the nearside (door side) of the drawbar, just beneath the coupling somewhere. It should be the letter 'S' followed by some numbers. The first number after the 'S' is the year of build (eg. 8 would be 1978). The rest of the numbers are the consecutive chassis build numbers for that year (eg. 1234 is the 1,234th chassis built in that year).
Don't be surprised if you haven't found another Viscount Supreme that perfectly matches your layout. At one stage in the 1970s, Viscount were advertising the choice of 65 different layouts in their range of vans!!
You can register on the Classic forum using the same UserID as you've used here, if you wish.
cheers, Al.
