Time to start planning this years Shellharbour gathering ,the dates are Wednesday 17th October until Wednesday 24th October , and of course you can nominate which days you want to be there for. Before we left last year I rebooked all the same sites plus put 6 more on hold . You can let me know here or via PM if you are going to make it. The only other thing we need to think about is what will this years challenge be . Last years scone challenge was lots of fun , though I do think there was some bribery going on between contestants and judges . Looking forward to hearing from you, no need for deposits yet Jude & Geoff

Yes it has rolled around again , the annual migration of old people in old caravans decending on sunny Shellharbour. Jude I know you will be exited but please do not make tooo much fuss. Rattcliffe and I will be arriving on the Thursday, please have our usual veiwing platform of the rich ones in the front row booked. Lady Pamela will be joining us on the Friday after Rattcliffe and I have prepared our site to her standards.
Humble John.

Hi All,
I haven't updated this thread for a while as I am trying to get sites sorted , unfortunately we have lost two waterfront sites permanently due to a tree branch falling through the roof of a van - sounds familiar 😄🌲 . Garry and Fran. I have sent you a PM as I haven't been able to contact you on your mobiles.
Judy ( Ken and Judy ) has asked if any ladies would be interested in a show and tell craft morning , sounds like a great idea to me.
Ok now I need the brains trust to help out here, last year we had the famous scone challenge and it was lots of fun , what can we come up with for an afternoon of fun this year . It has been suggested to have another scone challenge , a cake cooked in your barbie challenge , a combo of both or any other ideas welcome . It was a great way of getting everyone together and the park has said they are happy to do another sausage sizzle for us on the Saturday night .
I have had requests from people to move sites , I can only do this if the " owner " of the site choose not to come or do a swap .
Can I ask everyone to call the park on 4295 1123 to pay your deposits and let them know which days you will be there so they can re let the sites .
Looking forward to your suggestions and input to help make this year lots of fun.
Jude and Geoff

Hi Jude We are looking forward to Shellharbour as we do every year. We have most of the usual contingent from the ACT plus a few newbies this year and are even having a bit of a convoy of vans from Canberra through Nerriga to Nowra then north to Shellharbour just to get in the spirit of things. As I am still recovering from my epic loss at the 2017 Shellharbour scone cooking championships and in an attempt to redeem my reputation I am offering to cook one of my world famous Wangaratta chocolate cakes for afternoon tea. I am happy to extend a challenge if anyone thinks that they are good enough Judy wants to hold a Show and Tell craft morning for the ladies if anyone is interested. (does anyone still do macramé these days?) She will bring along some scrapping stuff and provide instruction on making a caravan themed card to take home with you. We have a new wind proof annex this year but won't need it as the weather will be perfect. Koala Ken (and Judy)

It is nearly time for the annual migration from near and far to beautiful Shellharbour , where the weather is always full of surprises. Maybe this year it will surprise us with lots of sunshine 😄. There are a few things on to keep everyone entertained :
Saturday morning Judy ( Mrs Koala ) has offered to have a craft morning , she is kindly bringing all the supplies .
Saturday morning there is Loot In Your Boot a car boot sale at Redall Reserve Lake Illawarra , I have never been but have heard it is really good.
Saturday morning the Gerringong markets are also on .
Saturday afternoon all gather at the camp kitchen for a get together , last years scone contest was lots of fun . What should we do this year ? Desperately need suggestions.
Saturday night the park is going to supply us with a sausage sizzle again .
Sunday morning the Kiama Seaside markets are on .
There has been the usual shuffling of sites due to some not being able to make it this year , this has resulted in sites 21N and 20N being left vacant . This means we will unfortunately have modern vans in between us , so if you know of anyone who would like to join us please let me know as soon as possible .
Unfortunately there are no cars shows on this weekend , I'm not sure how it happened but we seemed to have crept forward by a week meaning we miss the Jamberoo Car Show , will sort this for next year .
Also on Friday 19th October Sydney Weekender will be filming a segment on the park and Julie is very excited that the vintage vans will be there , so make sure they are all looking their very best as they might be famous and make the story .
See everyone soon
Jude and Geoff

Hi Jude and Geoff. It looks like you have another great week planned for us. Regards a cooking competition, i am willing to put my reputation on the line again and throw out a challenge. This year i think that a cake cooking contest should be a easy win for me but i expect that we don't have anyone up to takin gv me on😁😂🤣. We are currently camped in the Wayfarer at Bathurst for the car races and doing it tough with grandstand seats on the start line. Koala.

A couple of changes to our Saturday plans . There is also an open day / sale at Oak Flats plant nursery that some people have expressed interest in going to , with this and Loot in Your Boot and Gerringong Markets we have moved Judy's craft demo to 1.00pm .
It has been suggested we all get together around 2.00-2.30pm for a Loooooong Lunch , this will include anyone who would like to make scones or bake a cake for judging , or just bring a plate of something to share while we sit around chatting and possibly drinking until the sausage sizzle later in the day.
Geoff has said he might even make pikelets if you are lucky ( or not )

Details of the annual "Garage Sale Trail" on 20/21 Oct can be found here: www.garagesaletrail.com.au/sales?location=-34.539921509257404,150.86539414999993,13z&name=&date=&trail=false&items= (search locations Windang; Lake Illawarra; Mount Warrigal; Barrack Heights; Barrack Point; Flinders; Oak Flats; Dunmore; Shellharbour )
Take some time to go and have a look at the new marina being developed just south of you. See the million-dollar residences popping up all over the place around the marina. Picture yourself on a verandah with a gin-and-tonic as you gaze towards your $5 million-dollar yacht.
cheers, Al.

Indeed John might have a better chance if he lent me some anaesthetic so I could knock her out and kidnap her for the opal tour!!!😳😄 Haven’t broached it yet but am going see if I can persuade her to come this time I know she’d love it if she did. Regards Jenno PS thanks for your kind wishes Bluebird👍

Morning everyone. I will be coming to Shellharbour this weekend. Just me and the Holden in an Airbnb. I'll be there for the craft, evening car show and Sunday markets. I might have time to catch up with you... only joking. It will be so great to see you all. Hugs all round and don't make me cry. This is a big thing for me, on my own now. Just feed me scotch or wine and everyone wins the cooking competition. Xxx
