Hmmm, seems my photos linked via my postimages.org album are no longer showing on the forum. When I go to my album, the webpage shows the following notification: postimg.ORG domain is locked by Registry, no prior notice. While we hope to resolve the issue, we chose postimg.CC as our new home. Please update codes embedded in your websites.
One of the concerns I had last year, after the Photobucket debacle, was that any alternative hosting website might also cause problems down the track. After spending a heap of time reinstating all the 732 photos in my "Walsh rebuild" thread, they are now no longer available to view (plus all the other photos I've posted since going to postimage). Going back and changing all the link codes to "postimg.cc" is not gonna happen. I sure hope they resolve the issue SOON, whatever it is. cheers, Al.

g'day al
just had a look at my postimage account and the same thing has happened.
makes me wonder why it was necessary to change the domain where they hold the pictures, well, research has come up with the following:
What does .CC actually designate? Well, originally the TLD was assigned to the Cocos (Keeling) Islands as their official country code top-level domain. However, its syntax was considered very prospective given the ever narrowing registration choice of suitable domains with the popular extensions such as .COM, .ORG, .NET, .INFO, etc. The .CC domains could be a perfect choice for websites representing commercial companies, church communities, consulting companies, community centers and why not - pages dedicated to Chinese companies, conference centers and chat clubs.
still makes me wonder it was necessary and how long before they change their minds again !!!!

Mine are all there (on my phone login) although address is postimage.cc. BUT have just tried on computer & inaccessible. EDIT number 3. AL, go to the postimage page, click on 'My Images' top right corner, log in & all should be there. Edit number 4, my images are there but I cannot see yours on your thread If someone can fix this, can they then come & help me set up the new ATO requirements for paying employee superannuation? Because that has got me beaten.

keep in mind they have included this in their notice:
While we hope to resolve the issue, we chose postimg.CC as our new home. Please update codes embedded in your websites.
that suggests that they might be trying to re-establish postimage.org as their domain so i it may not be wise to change codes just yet.

I have too many images to edit on a possibility that they might get reactivated as postimg.org.
I only have one thread running for my project but lots of photos, so I have put the following message at the top of the first post.
At this time POSTIMG.ORG are having issues with their.ORG domain. I have too many image to migrate across to the temporary domain they are using. If you want to see the image, right click on it and copy the image address. Paste this into a new browser address bar. Change the .ORG to .CC, then press enter to view the images
If we are notified that they can no longer operate with the .ORG domain, I'll edit all my posts so the images show. Very frustrating so soon after the "OTHER IMAGE WEBSITE" shut us all out.

I contacted Postimage 'What is going on at Postimage? Is it temporary? Is there a way of accessing photos without having to redo the whole lot?' Their reply may make sense to the software junkies but it doesn't mean much to me No chance to .ORG back online. Please ask site admin to run SQL query for batch URL replace. Example for phpBB: UPDATE `phpbb_posts` SET `post_text` = replace(post_text, 'postimg.org', 'postimg.cc'); Best regards, Postimage support

i'm sure the correction as "quoted" below would only work in a phpbb powered forum. Example for phpBB: UPDATE `phpbb_posts` SET `post_text` = replace(post_text, 'postimg.org', 'postimg.cc'); since we are proboards, i assume (dodgy) that UPDATE `phpbb_posts` etc should be changed to UPDATE `proboards_posts` etc. refer to the answer on this phpbb forum: www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/postimage/support/topic/191346notice the post script: If your table prefix is not 'phpbb_' replace appropriately. regardless, only someone with the authority and as intelligent as richard would be able to make the correction. once the correction is made, all pictures downloaded through postimage will be corrected and reinstated (so franklin 1 can breath easy again). geoff 'n jude

Have had teenage tech support look over this today. It's not terminal but it is bad news & a lot of work for those with lots of images. Now I'm running a MAC so that's all I can help you with. Simple fix for individual images- Click 'Edit' On your photo URL where you see org, ( in 2 places) change these to cc s5.postimg.org/c8aivm6rb/IMG_0371.j/url] Have had to remove some of link otherwise you won't see anything Photo below is with this done Do this also when posting a new image. Now teen tech (who wants to do software engineering) showed me how to bulk change with Word. Open WORD, new blank doc, edit your post- copy & paste whole post onto blank document. Then Edit-Find- Replace Type .org in find bar & .cc in next block. Click 'Find' & Replace All. Then copy the changed document on word & paste back onto your thread, & presto- your pictures will be visible. Unfortunately, it's still one post at a time so Al's 17 pages is rather daunting. I'm not sure whether postimage themselves can fix that hotlink for forum address because every other link method has .cc except the one we use.

hi sgtl
it's still easier to run the (modified) sql query you originally posted to change all the postimage url's in our forum from .org to .cc in one hit.
all we need is someone on the moderation team to do it.

However, I have taken your suggestion on board, and I'm hoping that I can catch up with King Fisher at the Nationals and that he may be able to help us. It may be that only ProBoards can run the required sql query, but we'll see how we go. Don Ricardo

Spoke too soon Mustang? This in my inbox today.
We’re excited to announce that Flickr has agreed to be acquired by SmugMug, the photography platform dedicated to visual storytellers.
SmugMug has a long history of empowering people who love photography and who want to improve their craft, making them a perfect fit for Flickr and our creative community. With SmugMug, we’ll continue to focus on you, the Flickr members who inspire us all with your work.
Nothing will change immediately with regard to your Flickr account. You will still access Flickr with your current login credentials and you will have the same Flickr experience as you do now. We will continue to work to make your Flickr experience even better.
We think you are going to love Flickr under SmugMug ownership, but you can choose to not have your Flickr account and data transferred to SmugMug until May 25, 2018. If you want to keep your Flickr account and data from being transferred, you must go to your Flickr account to download the photos and videos you want to keep, then delete your account from your Account Settings by May 25, 2018.
If you do not delete your account by May 25, 2018, your Flickr account and data will transfer to SmugMug and will be governed by SmugMug’s Terms and Privacy Policy.
Read more detailed FAQs about this transition on the Flickr Blog.
We’re happy that Flickr is your home for photography and we look forward to the next chapter in our adventure together as we join the SmugMug family.
Thanks, The Flickr Team
