Hi Vintagerose,
Sorry for not answering your earlier posts. I have been away for a few days.
If you have created an account with Photobucket and uploaded your photos, you are more than half way there. Let me assure you that, while using Photobucket may seem a bit overwhelming at first, after you've got the hang of it, it really is quite easy.
However, one of the issues with Photobucket is that the way it looks on the screen can change depending on how it's set up, and I suspect the computer and browser that is being used. So you may have looked at SGTL's post, but the screenshots she has posted may look different to what's on your own screen. Also like a few computer applications there are more than one way of doing what you want to do.
That probably doesn't encourage you, but I think the easiest way to explain to you what you need to do is as follows:
1. When you open Photobucket and choose 'Library' from the menu at the top, what you should see is some tiles each of which shows a photo you have uploaded.
2. Click on one of the photos you want to post, and it should open up to a window showing a larger version of just the photo you have clicked on.
3. If step '2' has worked and you are looking at the large version of your photo, at the top of the right hand corner of the screen you should see 'Share This Photo', with a set of four little boxes below it (but maybe fewer). Each of the boxes contains computer code.
4. Look for the box that has an 'IMG' label to the left of it. The code in the box will start with: [URL=
5. Once you've found the 'IMG' box, place your mouse over the code in the box and click on the left hand button of your mouse. The box will very briefly turn yellow and say 'Copied'. (If that doesn't work, place your mouse over the code, click the right hand button of your mouse, and choose 'copy'.)
6. Once you've copied the code by doing step '5', you can go to the vintage caravan forum window where you're writing your post. Place your mouse where you want your photo to appear, then paste the code you've copied from Photobucket (click on the right hand button of your mouse and choose 'paste'). Once you've done that the code starting with '[URL=' will be pasted into your post window.
7. When you press 'Create Post' or 'Preview' for your post, you will find that your photo is displayed in your post.
To explain what is going on above, when you copy the 'IMG' code from Photobucket you are copying the URL or address of the photo in Photobucket and pasting it into your forum post. When you press Create Post, the forum effectively 'fetches' the photo from your Photobucket account and displays it in the post. But that doesn't happen until you actually create or publish your post (or preview it).
If you're still having trouble with the above - or get sick of trying
- I will be happy to post your photos for you, if you email them to me. To find my email address, click on my forum name in blue in the panel to the left of this post, and a new window will open which shows my email address.
Good luck, but don't despair, you'll get there!
Don Ricardo
PS Mustang's suggestion of using Tinypic would work as well, but involves the same process: upload pics - copy URL of photos (in that case the one starting with '[IMG'
- pasting URL into your forum post - then publishing your post.
