Good afternoon East Coasters, We have a weekend being organized north of the border and we have a prospective being organized down south so for those such of us that can`t get that far away or are looking for something a bit different how about Christmas in July in the lovely little town of Murrurundi. Nestled at the northern end of the Hunter Valley on the New England Highway it has a neat little caravan park that is puppy friendly and a fire can be had in winter. There is a cosy camp kitchen and plenty to see in the area. The dates - Thursday the 7th till Monday the 11th of July 2016. Or of course you can book in or out whenever you like. The Park Murrurundi Caravan Park Phone 02 6546 6288. Special guest for the weekend , the artist formally known as Reddo.
Hope to see you there Pamela, John and Rattcliffe.

Cheers JD.

Check the diaries , how often do you see a vintage caravan gathering in the Hunter Valley ?? Some where we can have a fire, cook up a camp oven or just roast some marsh-mellows. Get the bearings greased ,the lights working and we will see you there.

Well a lot of us are getting exited as we are preparing or already left on our pilgrimage to SWR, for those that cannot make it there still is Christmas in July in the Middle and of course for those of us that do, don`t let the fun end there get on the dog and bone and book that site and don`t be like those poor buggers now whom are saying, "I wish we went".

OK beautiful people, Yes we all had fun at South West Rocks, at least those of us that were lucky enough to be there. History now, the next place to be seen is Christmas in July in the middle. Plenty have expressed interest, now it is time to remove the digit and dial that phone and book a great weekend with other vintage vaners` at a great spot at the top of the hunter valley. You don`t want to miss out on that camp fire do you?? JD.

G'day John,
I'm going to start putting more kilometres under the wheels of my van, so I'm keen to participate in this event. I'll book my spot on Monday next week.
Does anybody know if the back road from Gosford - Bucketty - Broke - Singleton is suitable for towing a little van (even at a leisurely pace)? I'm looking for a change of scenery after travelling up the boring old F3 freeway to the Nats.
cheers, Al.

Good morning Al, If not in a hurry you can use the old Pacific highway and come up to Newcastle then go through the towns. Putty road takes you past Broke then into Singleton or you can turn off before and come through Muswellbrook. These roads all reasonable. I would not tow a VV over the Barrington Tops as depending on grading can be very rough and as Winter will more than likely be closed due to snow.
Great if you can come.

John, I've made my booking today for staying 5 nights from Thurs 7th to Mon 11th inclusive. Quoted cost per night for a powered site was $29 for two people, but she'll give me a 'solo discount' since I'm travelling on my own. No deposit required - just pay when I get there. No site allocated at this stage - will be sorted out when I arrive. That's me committed... cheers, Al.

Hey guys
There are a number of keen VV lovers in Murrurundi, and a few of them came to visit us when we stopped in on the tour to the Nationals, but it was a week day.... Are you planning an open house for people to come and have a look see? My mate who lives there could put it on the town newsletter. Wish I could make it..... will be there in spirit as my van is currently up there waiting for me!
Cheers
Mel
