Hi all
People at our November event at Bangalow said they were interested in a weekend at Evans Head for early 2016. Rob & I reconnoitered the Caravan Park a couple of weeks ago. It’s the biggest caravan park in NSW with room for 500 sites in busy times. It’s bordered by the beach, river, Bowls Club, & large RSL club. Perhaps it’s a possible venue for another NATS? Just recently they have made 2 areas of the park dog friendly in Off Peak & Shoulder periods. So the Park has reserved us a bunch of sites near the Evans River for the weekend after NSW school returns, Friday 29 & Saturday 30 January. There’s no Australia Day Long weekend in 2016.
Evans Head is a fantastic spot that ticks most boxes!
Small seaside town with food, fish shops, pub & grog shops just 200m from Park;
Beautiful walkways to patrolled beach along the edge of Evans River;
Fishing fleet with prawn boats a short distance from Park;
Kiosk next to sites with great coffee, ice creams & lunch menu;
Bright blue crystal clear Evans River enjoyed by fisher folk & kayakers.
On Tuesday I emailed a few people & the uptake has been brilliant.
Currently these people are booked in for various times from 27/1-1/2:
635 Terry & Vicki
640 Rod & Nettie
642 Jean & Kev
643 John & Sue
644 Kim & Graeme
648 Lawrence & Petra
650 John & Julie
652 Rob & Cathie
653 Reddo
654 Dennis & Sue
655 Paul & Allie
Lisa
If anyone else is interested, please contact the Park & book your site ASAP as the Park is only holding extra sites for us for 5-7 days. It’s a pretty popular Park (now its dog-friendly & so close to beach & shops) so we will have a few mainstream caravanners scattered amongst us but we’re a tolerant bunch! There are plenty of sites for smaller vans; unpowered riverfront; & powered sites 1 row back from the river. The managers Casey & Adrian have offered us a free meat tray (rissoles & snags) provided by the local butcher, and there are free BBQ’s just out the front of our sites right on the River. So looks like Friday night dinner is sorted!!
Please let me know which site you've booked.
