A BIG THANK YOU to all our sponsors for this fabulous annual event. This year will be HUGE with giveaways!
Make sure you check out the web sites of these generous businesses and support them. The photography by JayRose that they have been producing and displaying on the forums is absolutely AWESOME! Come and chat to them at the event, why not plan a special shoot with your caravan?
If you would like to join in the fun and prizes, but haven't put your name down because you can't make the whole event, why not just come for the Friday and Saturday night? Or even just the Saturday night? Just put a comment in one of the threads (see links below), so you get catered for (sausage lunch and breakfast - see details in threads).

So this means that we can all promote/advertise whatever we choose, in threads, rather than paying to advertise as the Proboard advertisers do?

So this means that we can all promote/advertise whatever we choose, in threads, rather than paying to advertise as the Proboard advertisers do?
These businesses have generously donated prizes (for free), and they are not getting a banner advertisement across the top of the ProBoards header, only a mention in a thread that I imagine only those interested in or attending this event will even open and look at. They are only trying to help make our Vintage Caravan event great, for free, so is there any harm in letting everyone know how generous they are? It's Christmas! (or will be soon)
Hey, if you want to sponsor the event too, we can add you to the list.

Dress it up any way you want, sponsorship is merely another form of seeking advertising. You even created a special thread item, beyond the event thread itself, just so that the sponsors gets more free coverage! But it seems like nobody else seems to feel the same way, so I'll just get off my soapbox! I do wonder whether it contravenes Proboard guideline though!

The heading is clear. Not trying to hide anything or trick you into looking if you don't want to. If you don't want to look just don't open the thread. No one is making anyone read if they don't want to, like the proboards banners do. If you hadn't commented again it would not have gone back up to the top of most recent, and would have gone down largely unnoticed and been forgotten.
Does this mean that the nationals should not advertise the caravan park for free? I am sure I have seen other advertising go without comment also.
I was mainly trying to get interest for vintage vanners to come to our great event and to be able to see what they could win.
At the end of the day is it doing any harm or hurting anybody?
