Hey Ken
I would like to join the tour in Murrurundi, which is on the route between Rylestone and Nundle. By the looks of it, if you leave Rylestone at 10, then it would appear Murrundi is about lunchtime, yes?? I have a very close friend there who can recommend an eating spot, and would let the town know we are coming so they can have a look see. Does that sound OK?? I will email you my van info. Cheers Mel

It looks like we are going to be famous as Bathurst Radio has picked up that we are coming through their town and will be doing a little broadcast featuring vintage caravans at 7:40 am on the Monday 28th. Shame they cant do it on the Tuesday when we are actually passing through Bathurst.

Just a reminder to all the potential travellers who are intending to come along on the tour from Cowra to South West Rocks to book their sites, just click on the link below for contact details for the various parks. As stated previously, the journey will take us through the back blocks and small country towns and I have purposely avoided the larger towns and caravan parks. This is not a blast up the highway but hopefully a leisurely wander through some varying and beautiful country. As a result the route will be; Cowra Monday 28 March 2016 Via Bathurst Via Kandos Rylstone Tuesday 29 March 2016 Via Muswellbrook Nundle Wednesday 30th March 2016 Via Tamworth Walcha Thursday 31 March 2016 Via Rosewood Via Kempsey South West Rocks Friday 1 April 2016 Potentially you could stop for another night between Walcha and South West Rocks in order to arrive on the Saturday 2 April for the official commencement of the National Gathering. I believe that there are some beautiful free or low cost camp sites as you come through the forest between Walcha and Wauchope which I have not included as a `official' destination as I have no idea of the number of vans and the capability of these places to accommodate them but you are welcome to drop off the tail should you choose. Those forum members living in the Sydney/Newcastle region could potentially join us at Nundle or Walcha. Just click on the link below for contact details which you need to complete your own accommodation bookings. Most parks do not require a deposit at this time but some areas have other events at the same time so it would be wise to make your bookings now rather than leaving it to the last minute. A group booking has been made at each park in the name `Vintage Caravans.com'. Should anyone have any difficulty opening this file then please send me a Personal Message so that I can sort it out, alternatively I can be contacted by phone on 0404 468 560. Please also send me a PM with your name and phone number when you have completed your bookings just so I can keep track of how many are coming along. vintagecaravans.proboards.com/attachment/download/2268Read more: vintagecaravans.proboards.com/post/new/14110#ixzz3Wg21cMEol want to do a lap l am sure l can beat the ford of tooleyau have you a v8 in it. Hi Koala,
Gypsy 10 has to be in SWR on Fri. Reason being Mrs Gypsy has to be picked up from Kempsey Railway Station Fri night.
Also I'm booked into SWR for Fri night and I may be leaving a day earlier than booked, so I don't want to lose 2 nights at SWR that's just a waste of money.
Gypsy 10.

One of our fellow travellers has double checked bookings made quite some time ago and reports that her booking at Cowra Caravan Park had disappeared. It may pay to call to double check your bookings.
If it is possible, a lap of Mt Panorama with the vans in tow would be a great idea to test out the aerodynamic qualities (or not). Could make a good photo!!!!

We are having a great time with 16 vans booked in at Walcha. Tonight we are staying at the lovely little town of Nundle. Bathurst made us very welcome with advertising on local radio so we put on a impromptu show for the locals at the top of Mt Panorama. I wonder who the person was who went down Conrod Straight with their van door open? Koala
