Hi Folks A further update. Just got back home from the hospital, --Still no voice, but but back to hospital next Wednesday for an operation in the pm. During this operation ENT Specialist is going to insert a'wedge'near my vocal chord to push it to the side and hopefully give me back my voice. This op. is adjustable and can be reversed if necessary down the track. So until I get back on the keyboard next Friday/ Saturday. Some radiation is planned but I am not aware of the planned program at this point. Cheers boblor

G'day All,
I've just had a chat with Boblor. He has had his operation on his throat and can now talk. Has to stay in hospital for his first lot of radiation but hopes to be home on the week end. He will update when he is home. He said he feels well so lets hope he's on the mend.
Cheers Bob and Jacqui.

Hi All my VV friends I had my op last Wednesday and regained my voice, which is a great relief, I now can communicate. Tomorrow Tuesday I start my Radiation program and finish on Monday 14/12. So I have had to change my Christmas plan to some degree, and hope that I am well enough to accommodate the changed plans. Flying instead of using the caravan. I am informed the side effects kick in about 10 days after I finish treatment and last up to two months some times. So hang on for the next report. Cheers boblor

Hi Al my VV Friends Just a quick update. Finished my Radiation program on Monday 14/12, and no noticeable side effects to date, however I am a little low with energy. Flying to Newcastle tomorrow at lunch time, to spent Christmas with my families, and back home on 3/1. Start some more Doctor appointments on 4/1. Today I rec'd some blood test results, my platelets have increased to a good level for me, but my tumor marker has increased considerably, -- which is not good. Plan to start travel towards Tassie with others on 19/1/'16 and return direct to the Nats at SWR. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all, and thanks very much for your thoughts during the past year. Cheers boblor

Hi To my VV family again Another update to where I am up to health wise. Well my VV travelling friends started on their journey to Tassie yesterday to catch the ferry on 3/2/'16. You may ask where am I, -- still at home unable to participate, -- doctors orders. I am now on a new chemotherapy program every thursday for six weeks with a break and start over again. Started this program on 7/1/'16 and finish this round on 11/2 and restart on 3/3. So am I disappointed I not travelling with my friends, -- you bet I am. I am not suffering any real side effects to date from the chemo. I now aim to be at SWR Nats to catch up with all and sundry, -- thats if doctor does not get in the way again. Again I must thank you all for your thoughts, cards, messages, and phone calls, it really helps to keep me going. My last blood test show my tumor marker had dropped 26 points, encouraging, so maybe my Doctor is on the right course. Cheers for now. boblor

We have booked 'Gwenda' - yes, we christened the van purchased from Gwenda after her namesake, Gwenda. She has already brought laughter and smiles to those who see her! I'll try and download some photos if I can. You take care now, Lee

Hi To all my V.V.friends/family As some of you know over the past 4-5 years I have had health problems associated with Cancer. Recently I have been diagnosed again for the fourth time, but this time inoperable. I put this thread out there so you will know the actual situation, rather than various rumors as to my condition. Right now I feel good and go on with life as if i am not aware of my current health condition as diagnosed by my medical team. I invite you all to continue the contact with me if I can offer advice/assistance with your restoration, and in particular my Olympic family. You the vintage/classic van enthusiausts will keep me going, as you are my 'family'. So until I state differently, please keep me in the 'loop'. Hope to see you at the outings planned between now and Christmas. Cheers boblor

Hi Bob You are a gem and your kindness and character has captured me.. I'd like to send you some photos of Gwenda's van but I am having trouble as the forum says the photo is too big. Hoping you are staying on top of your health - your optimism and outlook are to be admired. I've booked at site as South West Rocks and will meet you then! With great care, Lee

Hi Leebee,
That's a lovely message you've posted for Boblor, and one that I'm sure many, many of us on the forum could echo.
Regarding uploading photos, which is the main reason I am responding to your post, the 'Add Attachment' button is not operating at the moment, hence why you have received the message you did. The alternative way of uploading photos - and actually the better way - is to upload them via an online photo storage website such as Photobucket or Flickr. There are instructions on how to do that in the 'Forum Guidelines & Helpful Hints' section of the forum.
Have a look at the instructions and yell out if you need any help. No doubt Boblor will enjoy seeing the photos of Gwenda, but so will the rest of us!

Hi To All my VV friend again Well what difference a week can make to your life. As I have previously informed you I am now on a chemotherapy program since 7/1 all was going well until last Saturday pm when I started to feel a reaction the the chemo. Sunday I had to contact my Medical Oncologist for some guidance and again on Monday morning as I had broken out in a very servere rash to my head/face/and neck and I was suffering back pain. On monday Dr told me to see him straight away, so I prepared myself to be placed in hospital, I had a neighbour drive me to the hospital. However after the consultation it was my choice to go home or enter hospital with my perscribed medications. I elected to go back to my unit, where I have been since and slowly recovering.Still not driving. Today at lunch time I saw my GP and got some blood test results from yesterday, -- some good news my CEA tumor marker has dropped 16 points, but my platelets have also dropped which is not so good. Over the past six years I have been on this journey, I have only fallen foul of the chemo on three occassions, Aug.'13, July '15 and this time, so I think I am very lucky overall. This w/e I made vague plan to attend the VV W/e at Evans Head, -- but you guessed it, -- I had to cancel again. So now I aim for SWR Nats. I hope you do not find my reports boring, I feel it is the best to keep you informed and it is from ' the horses mouth' as they say. Being informed stops the wondering as to where I am up to health wise. Thanks again for your thoughts and kind words. Cheers boblor

G'day All,
I have just had a conversation with Bob Taylor and he's back in hospital at Tweed Heads. He has been there since Sunday and asked if I could put this on the forum. He has lost feeling in his left arm and has been having tests to find the problem. Doctor thinks it may be nerve damage and not stroke related. He sounds in good spirits. Anyone wishing to contact Bob he has his mobile with him and would appreciate a chat.
Cheers Bob and Jacqui.
