Hi to all my VV friends You can see by some of the recent posting I am feeling well and making the most of life.I am on an alternative medicine course, which appears to be working well for me at this stage. I have been on the road since the 17th Dec. and have met/ stayed with many VV friends and made very welcome. This makes life very worthwhile. Sold a van today , maybe i can travel ??. Have to be home for medical checks during first week of March.Planning to go to NZ for the 'Beach Hop'last week of March if I check out ok and likewise for my travelling companions, time will tell. In the meantime I have to attend the VV display at the Adelaide showground next week. So you had better watch Channel 7 'Sunrise' on Friday 20th 6-9.00am and I will give you all a wave if they will allow me on camera. By the way I have only managed to stay in two Caravan Parks so far and cooked very few meals, what a great group of people I find the VVers to be on my travels. Those of you who I have visited or stayed, thank you very much for the way you greeted me. I also must thank those of you who have phoned many times to check my progress health wise. Cheers boblor

Hi All Well the past week has not brought good news for me. As some of would know I returned home on 1/3/'15 for medical check up, after being on the road for eleven weeks touring as far as Gippsland /Adelaide. Well my scans show I have cancer now in another area near my aorta and difficult to treat. This is the fifth area in five years. So I sought a couple of opinions during the week, and as a result I start tablet form of chemothraphy on Monday 16/3, which has been donated to me by patient of my Oncologist. So I am A very lucky guy to have this treatment, as it is very costly. Vintage vanning -- Well I will still keep turning up whilst I am able, as you are my 'fammily' and keep me going with your support and thoughs, plus the phone calls. See you at an outing soon. Cheers boblor

Thanks for keeping us updated Bob, although not what we want to hear You really are an incredible person who, instead of hanging their head & saying 'well that's it then' you just say 'onwards & upwards' so to speak. I still think you should have 'Bob's Olympic Bash' while you are here to enjoy it. You are like family to so many people from so many walks of life. All the best for the rest of your adventures. SGTL

Hi to all my VV family I though I would give you an update on my health. Visited my Oncologist yesterday with latest blood test results. The report shows my tumor cell count has dropped from 114 down to 47- a big unexpected drop, - so my Chemo tablet I am currently taking is doing its job. If this is to continue I will hopefully be free of cancer next visit on 22nd June. The tablets are expensive at $85-90 each, and i was very lucky they were donated to me by one of my Oncologist wealthy patients,- so how lucky am I to recieve such a donation of $8-10 000 worth. You know what this means you likely to see me at outings for some time to come, especialy the Nats.Thank you for all your care and thoughs when I am out about with you. Cheers boblor

Great to hear Bob, as a new Olympic owner I am still stunned at the help that you have given, with all that is on your plate. One day I hope that we can repay your kindness, in the meantime you are in our thoughts

Hi Again to my VV family Well June 22nd has passed and I have had scans / blood tests and my Oncologist's report, I now report my latest results. The scan has revealed I now have cancer in my right lung as well as it is shown in my left lung again, besides being on lymph nodes near my pulumary artery and aurta. My tumor cell count has started to rise again confirming the above.Having stated all above I do not feel any effects of the cancers to date (would not know I have cancer except for the medical results). Now for the good news, the Fed. Gov. has in the last weeks announced it would be subsidising a further 2000 medications, and guess what, the medication that was donated to me in my last report is now available to me at $500 per month (84 tablets).Last Monday afternoon I had a consultation with my Oncologist, and decided to apply for the drug (Stivarga 'Regorafenib'), and by Wednesday received approval, yesterday collected my first supply of the drug. All involved were so surprised at the speed of the whole process. So yesterday I commenced the program, and hopefully it in time will lower my cell count, and not effect my mobility or caravanning activities.I still have knee problems, and yesterday had a Cortersone injection for some releif. I have roughly planned my next twelve months activity with my van. Christmas in July in Newcastle, Leyburn Sprint in Aug,Sept Nimbin show, whatever in Oct./Nov. and mid Dec. hit the road.I will visit family/ friends in Newcastle/Sydney/Victora, and on 3rd Feb.board the boat to Tassie until 23rd March, ( with other VV friends). Then join the tour group from down Vic./SA etc to the Nats at South West Rocks and home mid April. Maybe the Toades and Roaches tour may be on again April/May. June Cooly Rocks On display. Now all this will only happen if the Lord above looks after me, so heres hoping.Again I must emphasize that you my VV and Olympic families keep me focussed with your continual phone calls/emails/ and help when I am out with you, and for this I say a BIG THANK YOU. Cheers boblor 0428850666

Hi All Time for another update. In the last couple of days I have received blood test and CT scan results. They are ok as I am holding steady with my cancers, in fact some have got smaller and some disappeared. But I have developed a major problem with my voice, and it has been slowly occurring over the past couple of months, and I think it is associated with the Trial Chemo tablet I am on at the moment. At point in time I can barely whisper. I see my Oncologist tomorrow and I will be pressing to see Throat Specialist asap.So the keyboard is the only way I can communicate at the moment. I hope this does not interfere with my travel plans, as I plan to leave home in 4-5 weeks time and return home after the Nats. Apart from the voice problem I am feeling good, I feel better than three years ago. I will do another update soon to keep you informed. Cheers boblor

Hi VV Family Well things are moving quickly, being admitted to hospital tomorrow morning, and will be attended to by a Throat Specialist. It appears I will be here for a few days and in all probability receive radiation in an effort to restore my voice. So you will not see much activity by me for a little while, but I will keep you informed of progress. Cheers boblor
