Does anyone have any idea where you can get new gas burners for a FALKS stove? The middle burner is missing & I believe the drip tray that slides under burners......also I think the mesh tray that disperses the gas across the stove is missing.... Make sense of that??? Not sure what you call them! J Also.....water pumps....went to pump action to see if there was water but the hole knob/slide came out!!!! I think there is something missing...... Does the water hose from the tank attach to the end only??? J

Re the Falks stove, can't help you with info on sourcing parts, but these stoves do pop up on ebay/gumtree occasionally. so if nothing else, keep an eye open there as well. I got a similar one in excellent condition about a year ago for a whole $15, cos nobody else bid for it. Cost me more than that in postage!!!! It now takes pride of place in the Rowvan!

Mmmmmm....I have seen them every now then but I didn't need one back then! I sure would have given you a run for your money in the bidding war if I'd seen it first!!!!!! I need a fridge as well so I will pursue that avenue.....J

Saw your name in Falks stove......was waiting for something to hit me with FRANKLIN written all over it! ;D ;D ;D Yes, same problem.....I saw it the other day. Got excited as saw it was in Bendigo & heading up there in May!!! Would it matter if no central burner......can you still use it??? I'm guessing you can.....I don't want to cook with it but boiling a kettle if it rains etc would be nice.... Who services these little guys (gas repairers/plumbers) or am I suppose to know what/how it works myself??? Realise they are not too technical but the "ex" flamed up all over the place & nearly singed my eyebrows so I am a little wary of them

These gas stoves are fairly simple in construction and operation, and are not unlike your standard bbq in how they work. However, if you don't feel comfortable with checking the stove out yourself, then your nearest retail gas shop should have a repair workshop out the back, where they can give it the "once over" for you. I was in my local gas shop a couple of months ago, and there was a woman at the counter with a Primus gas camping stove from the '60s or '70s. Still in its box, and still in pretty good-looking nick. She'd been given the job of cleaning out her deceased mother's home/shed, and had come across it stored away. Now she wanted it checked out to see if it was still safe to use. The shop was happy to do that for her. cheers, Al. ps. Funnily enough, the two parts of Franklin vans that don't have the Franklin name on them are stoves and fridges. They managed to get 'Franklin' stamped on the sinks though.

Hi Jennie If all you want to do is boil a kettle just get a single gas cylinder cartridge burner at the Big Green Shed for about $20 - good for if you're out of power range too. If its only for emergencies, and you don't need it to cook on, you can have it as a non-period backup under the bed or something. Then the Falks can just be for pretty and you don't need to worry if it works. Cheers Seeshell

Hmmmm...yes Carly, pretty is probably all it will be....trealise they are simple but that's what we thought with the Coronet....we pulled it apart...it was in ex cond (so we thought)... Poof...flames 2ft high came out of everywhere After me calmly pointing out to the boy perhaps turning the gas off at cylinder would be a good idea cause he was gaping at the flames stunned thru the window....after the near singe of every hair on my head, we couldn't stop laughing....whoa...down boy I might do as Mr Franklin1 suggested and take it to a gas repairer...better not come back with a FRANKLIN sticker all over it .........even if they can manage to get two outer burners going and forget the middle section....never know might be able to source one from somewhere ;D We have a round iron top BBQ that we cook on but no awning/annex just yet for the newbie....your suggestion for $20 Bunnings job maybe the go in the meantime..... ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ive got my eye on the ebay fellas van for parts & bits n pieces. If no-one bids on it that is! There is a stove in it as well & I could possibly bring stuff to Bendigo for you. Seeshell is spot on with the for looks analogy. One of my vans has never had gas. Took it to the plumber, he said 'no problem BUT you'll have to tile the stove receptacle to get your compliance certificate' Well that would look stupid & non-vintage so I'm not doing it Still have the stove for looks. Either use the old electric jug or the companion outdoor stove for boiling & cooking.

SGTL.............Yes it's only for pretty looks......realise that.....but still would be nice to have it complete......& boil the kettle on it purely for my personal entertainment ;D.......thanks for the offer of your stove if you are winning bidder I will not be in Bendigo till May 19th I think it is.....will confirm if you WIN! Or if I find one in the meantime Mr Franklin1............I was just down at Bairnsdale Monday/Tuesday!!! That's where the tin can came from Nicholson is just out of Bairnsdale....a suburb??? It has the tray missing.....but that's no big deal really....looks bigger than the FALKS will call & find out dimensions....The existing FALKS hasn't got much room either side.....let you know!!! Thank you for your eagle eye..... ;D ;D ;D

I have a Falk stove I use in the shed. I want to remove one of the knobs to re grease the taper to ensure its gas tight, but I cannot get the knob to move, is there a trick?
